Can the coli tell me any other rapper that can make a something like “Hustlaz Song” then turn around and drop a “Kick, Push”? :jbhmm:

Craft songs like “Valleys” but turn around and do a joint like “Chopper”?

For every complex layered song like Adoration of the Magi there’s a “More Than My Heart” to match it.

Forget the lyricism... he’s one of the most dynamic, versatile artists to grace the mic.

Lupe Fiasco was the close'' thing to prime nas anyone ever got ..

An the one thing he had over nas is he knew how to make a commercial song

But Nas is a lyricist. I hate that people these days use wordplay as the end all be all barometer for lyricists. If u have to leave a lyricist like Nas off the list that means something is wrong with ur definition.
yeah seriously. those people basically saying a Fabolous or cam’ron is better than nas who is one of the best lyricists in the history of music

are u asking for versatility in general or specifically ones that r Lupe like?
They prolly don't have as many complex layered songs(tho Pac has "Blasphemy" and Me and my girlfriend" which is like his "Gotta Eat")

But if we talking versatility in general Method man and Pac are among the most versatile

It's an interesting question because a lot of rappers rap like they're stuck with the same style and content that got them on to begin with.

That being said there are lyrical rappers who switch up their style/content well, Andre 3000 comes to mind

I mean just in general.

Pac was prolly the most versatile MC of all time.

His content ranged from socially conscious poet, to pro-black militant, to super fly thug club bangers, or just some everyday chill ass nikka shyt seamlessly.

One of the best things he's done in while IMO.

ok, well anyways yeah indeed. Pac has songs that cover up about almost everything

Pac also was doing "Grown up rap" before most of his peers with songs like "Better Dayz"

as well as Gosepl/religion songs with "Who do you believe in" and others

as well as having storytelling tracks, lyricial tracks, concept songs, etc You can also say he dabbled in horrorcore as some say "Hail Mary" is horror and that "Ballad of a dead soulja" is as well

I think some do it because its what there comfortable with, as well its what the fans want.

i dont care, because as long as the music is good, you can continue on with that style. but you should build upon it.

and 3000 indeed is versatile, I put him up there as one of the "can do anything" type artist along with PAC

Pac could "do everything" because he didn't do "too much".
His technical skills were almost easy mode/poem guy status...so he could vary in content but not cadence/pattern/delivery, etc.
You can rap about 100 different things using the same few words/styles much easier than the converse.
Straightforward regular raps with emotional aggression, how can I "relate not amaze"...and that's good.

@1stbolded no, Pac wasnt someone who tried to impress with technical skills. But he did show them(excluding tracks where he is intentionally doing so) he used internal rhyme, similes, mutlti syllables, and others.

@2ndbolded Ok No, Pac has varied his cadence, delievery ,etc just as he did his content.

songs like "Holla at me", "Cant c me", "All eyez on me" ,"Krazy", "Got my Mind made up", No More Pain" and various others all disprove a narrative that Pac only had 1 cadence/style/delivery

Pac had various styles, theres a reason he is argued for most versatile rapper, not only because of his content but the styles and types of songs he can do.
