Ain't nobody a "far better rapper" than Lupe Fiasco brehs - not even Nas. Ya'll bugging out something serious. Ya'll like Nas more which is fine but WAY BETTER RAPPER?

Nope.
"Rapper" and "Lyricist" are not the same, to me, thats why I made it clear that bar wise, imo, nobody is fukkin with Lupe

I personaly get the vibe from Nas interview on SOLE that he does not respect lyricist that are lyrical just for the sake of being lyrical. And that would be possible a rapper like Lupe.

Also Nas didn't return contact further with Lupe. That CLEARLY means Nas was not interested in colabing with Lupe.

Do you have a link for the interview?

Wanting to do a concept project about Amy Winehouse is the most on-brand Lupe thing ever. Just rap, man. Not everything has to be some forced, elaborate concept. People don’t want to hear that shyt. I’m glad Nas moved away from limiting himself with concept albums. If you’re gonna do concept albums, do a loose concept like Life Is Good.

I’m a Lupe hater/bitter former stan tho so you all know I’m biased.

Nas literaly COINED THE PHRASE "MURDER YOU ON YOUR OWN shyt" on "Ether" one of the first if not the first in Rap history to articulate the idea lyrically of someone being outdone on their own song by a featured rapper.

Nas has CLEARLY demonstrated that he is not interested in collabing on a song with one of the most skilled technical lyricist in the history of Rap.

There is a reason Nas hasn't collabed with a Eminem either
With rappity Rap lyrical miracle rappers collabs you run the risk of unfairly being perceived as getting murdered on your own shyt, even if the rappity rappers verse was not as relatabl, impactful or street credible.

Has DEMONATRATED appreciation by collabing with the Rick Ross's the the Prodigys because they are of a credible street, street narrators as well as lyricist and proficient lyrical technicians.

Nas wanted Em on a Daughters remix. Em declined.

Try again with that bullshyt

Some artists find rapping for the sake of rapping boring. MC’s like Nas and Lupe have already MASTERED “Rap” as a form of lyrical miracle expression. They choose concepts because it challenges them.

I have NO idea why you’d even suggest Lupe simply “rap” when he literally came in the game as a conceptual rapper. Food & Liquor and The Cool are BOTH concept albums and Lasers would’ve been as well if Atlantic hadn’t fukked him over. I don’t even think Lupe would feel the need to rap anymore if he ran out of ideas for concepts.

The last time Nas went conceptual we Untitled and Distant Relatives, which were both EXCELLENT albums that stand the test of time and add weight to his legacy

Nas seems like one of them "in the moment" dudes, lol.

"Yooo, Lupe! I love you king!"

"It's an honor to even meet you Nas. You have no idea how much you've inspired me over the years"

"Peace. Peace. And you inspire me too King, you one of the best in the world"

"Thank you bro, really. We should link up, bang out a few joints together"

"Whenever you ready king. We should knock out a whole project or sumn. Here, take my number"

"Really!!?!?! Ayo Nas, you have no idea how much this means to me"

"The pleasure is all mine"

Then he tries to call him a day later...then a week later...then a month later...no response.

:russ:, that's that introvert shyt.

i would be interested in hearing it , but I would anticipate the Az and Premier collabs that never happened more, which is no disrespect to Lupe, just based on he has classics with those two and I know the chemistry is there. I remember there was talk of a Common one at one point too, shows how often Nas has these ideas randomly and forgotten about it lol. I am never mad at new music from either one of them tho
