AD is not going to bring the Mavericks any closer to a championship let alone the Conference Finals, and it's delusional to believe so, which is why Dallas fans are understandably angry because they know what I and many alike alluding to Luka: even with his defensive, conditioning, issues, you don't give up on a generational Superstar talent who is only getting better.

That would be like the Bucks trading Giannis all because of his poor free throw and 3-point shooting woes. Even Philly wouldn't trade Embiid with his health issues for this low of a price in return, nah the Dallas organization is a laughing stock right now.

This was an awful and delusional trade by the Mavs.
When have you see him “getting better?” He’s been the same player the past 3 years, if not longer than that. He’s blown up to 270, gotten worse on defense, and can’t stay on the floor. He hasn’t added anything new to his game.

The best argument here is strictly business; Luka kept people in the seats. Basketball wise, I can see why you’d do it. Belicheck rule: rather get rid of someone a year early rather than a year late.

He’s generational, but he’s peaked. He’s also temperamental and could’ve tried to force himself out down the line. I’m not the biggest AD but I can see the fit with Kyrie.

Nico is a fukking hack and always has been
He's made some great moves:

- got PJ Washington for Seth Curry and Grant Williams
- got Daniel Gafford for Richaun Holmes and a 1st rounder
- got Dereck Lively II for Davis Bertans and Cason Wallace
- got Kyrie for Dinwiddie and DFS
- got Klay for Josh Green and picks.

He set them up nicely by surrounding Luka with some complementary pieces and they made a Finals run off that.

Which is why it makes little sense that he was behind this. Why would you set your team up like that only to trade your centerpiece (in his prime), all after one run? It wasn't as if this group had 3-4 years of running it back with Luka at the head and they still couldn't get the job done.

It makes even less sense why he'd make such a rash decision like this given Luka's value, especially when you see lesser players like Fox and Jimmy, (who're both under more extreme conditions) still being held by their teams.

This is just sitting the lakers up for long term more than anything

This isn’t no win now type of shyt for lakers for me, especially with a lack of a big man and quality role players

This was a dumb ass trade for the mavericks period… but we’ll find out if it works or not over the next 2/3 years
