It's the only thing that makes sense. That gaining weight thing is a cop out. From a basketball and branding standpoint this trade never made sense. My thing is Silver should have gotten involved and found some way to block this trade. Sports franchises have to stop these corrupt owners who don't care about sports. Who only want to use sports for their own personal gain.

Of course he's mad. His pride is bruised too. Rob didn't tell him/Rich they were trading AD. They found out when everyone else did.
Prime Bron would be one thing, but he's 40. You have an opportunity to set yourself up nicely for your franchise post Bron, you do it. Giving away future talent to appease what you want ain't happening no more Bron. The team will rebuild around Luka, not you.

Luka is gonna absolutely kill on the Lakers, but whats the outlook of the team around him long term? Bron has two years left after this? They dont control most of their 1st round picks, correct? How are they gonna put talent around Luka

If it’s one thing I hate/respect out of the Lakers, they’ll figure it out. Even if from the looks of it, they have absolutely nothing to work with, it’ll work out for them.
Nobody was fearing an AD led team post Bron, now with Luka you got a top five player that’ll at least get you to the playoffs every year. They’ll make it happen.
Bron has a player option this summer. He'll probably pick it up.
But we're right below the second apron next season having 11 cats on contract. Apron might go up some but it's at 190 million right now. We're at 189 committed salary next season with Bron and Dorian Finney Smith picking up their player options.

Someone will force their way to LA to team up with Luka. It’s bound to happen. Might be Giannis in the summer or some younger superstar in the next 2-3 years but it’s gonna happen
I think those days are over. Luka is similar to LeBron where it takes a certain type of player to want to play with them. He dribbles the air out the ball, doesn’t try on defense and dominates the shot clock all game.
Porzingis didn’t even like playing with him and he’s a player you would think would benefit from playing with someone like Luka
