Okay, cool.

Luka Doncic for AD/Max Christie is still not equal lol.

We've seen what AD does as a 1A already compared to what a Luka can do. Add in the age gap, and it's still a bit lopsided. Don't care what you say :manny:
They’re not equal but that doesn’t mean it’s a lopsided trade. Both teams gained and lost without a clear winner.

Luka incredible offensively but has weight issues and lack of commitment on the defensive end.

AD incredible defensively and still gives you 25/30 points, has injury issues and is getting older.

The role players on the Mavs might be better than the Lakers as far as fit and the Lakers gave up arguably their most consistent one, only 21.

Lakers have Knecht and Reaves so I wanna see how it plays it out but honestly…the trade still doesn’t make sense.

lol you all really acting like Miriam Adelson didn't give the green light.

You don’t covertly trading the franchise, generational player without an auction unless the higher ups want it.
Bro she was 100% the reason they did this trade and I bet it was to avoid paying Luka a supermax

Kyrie Irving is still on the roster. He's pretty good at creating offense
For himself. He is a PG in height only. If he had a traditional PG mindset/IQ and AD had the motor of a Dream or Duncan the league would be in trouble.

The more I think about it, the more I understand Dallas. They just didn't want to pay the money.

And they don't think Luka is worth it anyway. I don't know if I agree about him being "worth it" but, I can understand physically not wanting to pay $350M.

All he has to do is maintain close to peak weight, and ball every night then boom Dallas would've blew the bag on him.

Let's be real with ourselves. He gave them every reason not to wanna pay him maximum digits.

Then to make matters worse Emblid, PG, K. Leonard and Beal were prolly giving the Mavs front offices nightmares of what giving him the max could be become.

I read a statement somewhere that 70 percent of AD points come from an assist or offensive rebound. So now with Dallas he'll have to create more offense for himself and others and that's not his strength
AD averaged over 28ppg in back to back seasons while playing for the Pelicans (right before he got to LA). Who was generating all these points for him? nikkas act like he’s Clint Capela :snoop:

Christie is getting slept on. That's the kind of player that EVERY team covets and he locked in to a team friendly deal.

Luka is every bit the injury concern AD is and one must wonder why a squad was not only willing to part with him but actually initiated it.

Anytime you make a trade you are taking a risk.

I dont think Max is slept on, it just doesnt matter if we have to give him up to get someone like Luka.

If the player qualifies for the supermax based on the current qualifications, then it's unfair to tell them that they don't deserve it or screw them out of it in the process via trade.

Say whatever you want about Luka and his conditioning, but if there was one player that deserved the supermax based on All NBA accolades, then its him.

It’s not like it was a one off All NBA appearance that made him eligible for it like we’ve seen previous.

Both the owners and the players agreed to it as well as this new CBA, so it’s unfair for them to bytch about it now.

The whole reason the supermax exists is because NBA owners thought if it existed OKC would've been able to keep Kevin Durant from going to the Warriors.

Also officially the only team to win a title with a player under a supermax contract are the 2022 Warriors with Steph. However technically, the 2021 Bucks (Giannis), 2023 Nuggets (Jokic) and 2024 Celtics (Brown) had players who had signed them, the extension just hadn't kicked in yet
