It's not a bad trade at all if we only talk about these next 2 seasons or so. But after that it's not really a good one. They keep themselves in the hunt if they all stay healthy, but they all in their 30s
and Kyrie and AD BOTH have health issues

they HAVE to get a chip in the next 2 seasons. and im not 100% sure they will :francis:

Using Coli logic about all stars and their value. The Mavs actually got the better deal. They traded a player who wasn't even good enough to be an all star this year for an all star player and a 1st.

This is arguably the most shocking trade in sports since the Wayne Gretzky trade to LA in 1988 IMO.
It broke every social media platform

I’ve got people at work that don’t follow the nba talking about it. Women and men

Is Luka drinking himself out the league or something because I still can't figure out why you don't get a Hershel Walker type haul for him. This GM should never have a job again unless it's the Lakers paying him back on this favor.

:russ:
The conspiracy that this is a nba inside job makes more sense that the reality

Well, look, I truly believe the Lakers did not consult Bron, and I can understand why because it's a conflict of interests. They didn't want to put that pressure on LeBron having to choose between having loyalty to his brother, AD, and choosing a generational superstar in Luka, but also they had to do what was in the best interests of the team moving forward...

Yes, we all know throughout Bron's career, he's had major influence within the team from offices when it comes to team decisions around trades and signings, but that was when he was younger and had plenty of years left in the league so losing him was something teams didn't want to risk so they let him have influence in management decisions.

He's older now, 40 years old, and has another year or two before he retires, the Lakers did what was best for their future and I don't wanna say it like this because LeBron is my favorite player but the reality is that and I say this with all due respect, there's no longer any incentive or reason to kiss his ass anymore because he's 40 with retirement knocking on the door, worrying about how he feels no longer matters in the grand scheme because he won't be a part of their future regardless, so there's no fear of losing him, just off the fact he's 40 years of age with retirement around the corner.

They probably did consult him out of respect but he would have absolutely no sway on a final decision.

There really isn't anything to discuss when you literally just get a 25 year old franchise player dropped on your lap. You gotta make the deal.....it is what it is.
