Ludacris' music has aged terribly and it's high time we acknowledge it

Salute.

Couldn't have said it better myself, but shiit i damn near try to fam that dikkride Jay's hustle stories.

For 20 damn years 'we get it, you hustled, what you want? A fukken medal?'

Jay/Kanye was damn near the biggest non pop singing artists in the world when 'Watch the Throne' dropped. And what did we get? Another 'I got stacks, i hustled, give it a rest Jay'.

Then when nobody was checking for him anymore (in a platinun/commercial success sense) he flipped it on us, too late.

Not only that, he stole flows left right and centre. Beanie flow, Young Chris flow, Sha Stimuli flow, Bigs flow and now Mach Hommy flow.

Jay's top tier no question, but he fumbled the ball the whole way and used steroids and paid off the ref imo. Problem is nobody saw it.

That's a name I haven't heard in a while. Shout out to Sha.

:deadmanny: Nikkas in here :cape: hard as fukk for TI.

:mindblown: TheColi dot com, brehs.

Well TI has at least one album that is seen as a reference point to what mattered in rap at the moment. Luda knew himself during the peak of his career that he was undervalued (hence songs like “Number 1 Spot”) He was a guy that could put words together but there was nothing about him to get behind

What is his lineage?
Where are the rappers citing him as an influence?
Who is quoting him?

He beat TI and that battle but did nothing for him. At least Redman (albeit a better rapper) was respected with an album people championed. Luda sold a lot of records and kept a hit but as we can see now it was hollow love

ATL has no remnants of Luda ever existing

Man I was reading the Op looking like Michael Jackson with the popcorn lol. I believe every word said! I will always say that Luda is a good rapper but he just never made songs that I could see myself playing for the rest of my life. I mean his stuff wasn’t made for me but it is what it is. Luda is officially in that “oh I remember that song” lane for me. You was probably in the club when one of his songs came on or have some other memory. That’s most of the 2000’s for me though, there’s a lot of stuff that I forgot about or didn’t even care about at the time. Saturday’s and Splash Waterfalls are official though.

Look that cartoony MTV video style was what popped back in the day, he wasn't the only one to do it...so yeah he had some stuff that didn't age great but he still a lot of good shyt and had a good run. Sometimes corny but he also had a mean flow, had some smooth tracks and some bangers...like how is Southern Hospitality not a banger...how is Stick Em Up not a banger?

He killed the Made You Look remix too...

“I used to always try and burn you CDs of my new shyt
You be like "Who's this?" I be like "Me, girl"
You be like "Oh, word, true shyt?"
Then ask if we could listen to Ludacris
Them car rides made me feel like I was losin' it
Yeah, made me feel I ain't have it like that
Or I was average like that”

T.I. had an amazing run in the beginning of his career. I'd argue that his last 2 albums are also pretty solid. Luda started making Fast and Furious movies with Tyrese and was like fukk it. Kids these days might know him more for that than being a rapper.

Luda was an artist of the time. Listening to his music takes me back to senior year in high school and first 2 years of college. He was entertaining, had bars, gave us bangers and creative music videos. Appreciate him for what he gave us :yeshrug:
