Ludacris' music has aged terribly and it's high time we acknowledge it

I don''t care how it sounds now, I loved that album when it came out and still find parts of it really fun. Added it to the vinyl collection years back
That’s another thing. How you think it sounds now does not take away from the impact a project or song had when it was released

lol at the OP thinkin that cause you don't make songs "about" something or touch on a serious topic, that makes you not a dope artist.
breh... not everyone wants to listen to "substance" all the time, or hear serious/sad/topical songs... shyt.. most of the time those type of songs sound so terribly forced.
luda's music definitely didnt age well but he did what he was supposed to do... make fun/feel good/party music...

Nah how something ages has to do with what the popular sound is in the future

Perfect example what happened to that boy aged better than 99% of neptunes tracks because of the 808s in the beat
That song also just aged well because it sounded experimental and futuristic while still managing to sound pretty hard and grounded.

I don't think it simply comes down to 808s. The hook was ridiculous, but still funny while also being dope. Al the verses were solid. It gave us a phrase we still use (in the bushes). One of the dopest ending few bars to any Pusha T verse.

That was just a dope song that will always be appreciated.

But the 808s are dope too for sure.

That's...not what I was going for at all. As a matter of fact, when Luda tried to get serious, it was forced just like you said :dead:

The nikka was just corny as hell and it took me growing up to see it. I'm not gonna lie, I bought the albums but you couldn't pay me to run them shyts back again today :manny:

Luda’s legacy in rap has aged horribly. He outsold and had more hits than Ross, TI, Jeezy & Gucci yet they were the ones that got all love for their albums/contributions to rap

Go figure

When you get :flabbynsick:, hearing that certain music is “dated” usually means its just something you like more.
