Post Dave bars that should make me go :ohhh:

The track in the OP got more impressive wordplay and slick talk than what I heard recently from younger US artists, especially ones that's got a real following. They both killed that, even though they just talking shyt.

What I'm saying is the younger UK acts that's been elevated to the top of their scene commercially actually got skills. It ain't that they got more talented artists over there, it's that they supporting their talented artists. US fans embraced trash for so long that's what the industry feed audience. Yeah you got regional and underground artists that's dope, always will. But you need top talent at the top of the industry to set the standard for the next generation otherwise the artform gonna continue to deteriorate.

Dudes on here will tell you Dave and Stormzy is trash because of the accents but supported 6ix9ine and think Sexyy Rex music is fire, so it is what it is :yeshrug:

I'm a New Yorker and I can acknowledge that UK's young mainstream rappers are way better spitters than USA's. They actually have bars in their commercial record. Even Sprinter had clever lines all through the song.

Since I've been checking out UK rap the thing that surprised me was they are all at least solid lyrically meanwhile we got a bunch of kids who can barely stay on beat, focus more on auto tune melodies, and are terrible at rapping.

People want to clown but they're the same ones who have been shytting on the XXL freshmen lists for the past 5 years+. They know we have a total lack of emphasis on bars.

Yeah I never gave it a chance until a couple years ago. I was doing business with a couple dudes from England and we got to talking music so I checked a few artists they mentioned and they was cool. Went from there. I got no investment in their scene other than they got some talented musicians over there. J Hus probably my favorite and he not a bar heavy artist, more on the wavy side, but he make good ass music and routinely talk about real life amidst the stick and drug talk.

The accent never bothered me, I been a Slick Rick fan for like 30 years :flabbynsick:

Dudes being so dismissive without even listening remind me of the brehs I grew up with that hated everything out of New York. Like, alright, stay mad and miss out on good shyt. Ain't my loss :yeshrug:
