red + blue was the 1st and last version I played...me and my cuz’ns actually went to new jersey (from BK) to a tournament...@ some point we ended up walking looking for a motel to stay @...found some seedy ass place where you heard ppl fukking in multiple rooms...to save $$$ we rented a room and slept on the damn floor which was probably the cleanest spot...used our bookbags as pillows...went to the mall the next morning...the fukking tournament was not what we imagined (hooking up our gameboys to other gameboys and using our best pokemon to fight)...ended up playing in pokemon stadium tournament (the game hadn’t even been released yet ) so everybody’s preparation for the tournament meant nothing as the details of the tournament (other than the location/time and it being a “pokemon” tournament) weren’t revealed...good times tho lol
