I recomend for anyone that hasn't done so, check out the book, Black Brothers Inc. which provides a detailed history of the Black Philly Mafia who were not only tied with but also comprised of NOI members. The same fundementalist fervor that black Muslims are known for is what played a role in the Hanafi murders where they murdered underaged children because they thought it was their religious duty to do so. It was a combination of gangsterism and fundementalism that made them do something so dispicable. Another book, The Almighty Black P Stone Nation which details the history of Jeff Fort and the P Stones turning into the El Rukns also highlights the influences of the NOI on their gang. In both books, there's some enlightening information on Farrakhan. People like to view him in multiple ways, a Black Supremacist/Nationalist, Muslim Fundementalist, Activist, etc.. The reality is, dude is a gangster, first and foremost who insulates himself under the cloak of religion.
