That time spent doing direct ab work might be better spent getting additional movement in for this particular goal. If you are spending 20 minutes (for example) doing abs I would look at getting 20 more minutes of cardio in.

@Womb Raider I was goofing around with my last 10 minutes of training and was stuck between 10 minutes on the treadmill or abs. Ended up doing some walking marches with KB in the rack position.
