I went and bought the game cause its on sale on PSN.... It definitely doesn't hit the same as I remember.

Outside of Grove street, how much larger should the neighborhoods have been? Every rendition from San Andreas is considerably larger

I feel like the map seems incomplete. The game states the map is the state of San Andreas yet San Fierro or Las Venturas isn't there.
In a lot of ways GTA V is a step down compared to the previous games.The graphics are good but the gameplay is average at best.
The A.I. is bad and the physics seemed dumbed down compared to GTA IV.
The game feels very lifeless after you beat the story. Even during the story it feels like the protagonist are on a movie set instead of being one of the many people living in Los Santos.
I know Rockstar wanted people to play GTA Online after the story but its terrible.

The worst one is the XB360 version since it's the mobile version of the game.

GTAV Los Santos actually does look like LA, but the world feels dead, kind of hard to explain but San Andreas actually had character to it and every city had a unique feel and vibe.

Its because Rockstar wanted people to jump into GTA Online.
On the PC version mods can bring some life to the city but you have to make sure the mods are compatible or the game will crash often.
yup...im currently running some mods that makes gtav great...i got all of the online missions for solo player, authentic billboards and road signs...all of the online businesses in the solo game...dealing drugs...naturalvision graphic mods...i have my own gang...gangs of los santos (probably my favoritew mod)

My biggest problem with GTA V is the police. The system was fine in GTA IV and they would attempt to arrest you at 1-2 stars. In GTAV its is almost literally shoot on sight for police. Also the police will search for you a lot longer compared to GTA IV.
I don't know if that is how the police are in real life LA or Rockstar being lazy/rushed with GTA V.
Does the game become unstable if you try to mod the online missions/businesses in story mode? I currently have naturalvision, fine-tuned felony, and world of variety installed.

I just installed the Gangs of Los Santos 2 mod and it works perfect with fine-tuned felony and world of variety. 
i added the online missions after i beat the game and so far no issues

I wonder if Rockstar is going to pull a RDR to RDR2 setup and GTA VI will include Los Santos, San Fierro, and Las Venturas.
