Which version did you like better

Me personally, GTA 5 Los Santos is one of my least favorite cities in a GTA game. Its big but it has no real atmosphere like previous cites. Plus this the first GTA game I played where the hood didn't feel like the hood, maybe its because of how large the LA skyscrapers are in this game, but unless you're right on grove street, everything else feels like a regular neighborhood with the skyscrapers right in the back ground.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
Last time I checked, there's still gangs in LA. Especially in the areas they mapped out. And yet GTA 5 had zero gang feel to it. Yea yea a few missions and you always fighting with the Ballas... But free roam in SA was just different.. Run up in the wrong hood and that set was on your ass.. Go to your own hood and it was all love. nikkas riding out with you. Taking flights out to Vegas

You never got that feel from 5

I feel like the streets in the hood were too large on GTA5 and San Andreas did a better job at remaking the compactness of some LA areas.

In LA a lot of areas in the hood are super compact with small streets(one way streets) with cars parked on the side.

The hood in GTA5 doesn’t feel like the hood because the streets are so big and the houses too spread apart. They should have made areas denser.

They did a great job capturing the nicer areas though like Beverly Hills and parts of Hollywood feels like the real place.

San Andreas' Los Santos legit felt like being dropped in 1992 Los Angeles. GTAV is more detailed by far due to exponential leap in technology, but the city -- despite being larger and more detailed -- doesn't have a fraction of the spirit or vibe that LS in San Andreas had. I remember cruising around at dusk in San Andreas listening to the radio. The sky had went orange and the palm trees were on full display. Cube's 'Today Was A Good Day' was on Radio Los Santos and the DJ was relaying the weather for the night. It was heavy fog coming in. I never expierenced a moment in GTAV that captured the essence of the city & time like that.
