I think the law is going to come back around for those price gougers who were very blatant with it "publicly"

But If I own a property which is available for rent and people come checking for availability I could simply say I am evaluating a number of offers...please put in a bid..

People are so desperate they will put in bids WELL OVER the initial asking price......

You didnt "gouge" anybody in that situation...

If your spot got 4-5 bids you go with the one you want

As opposed to changing your rent from 10k to 40K on a rental website lol
$9 for a dozen eggs

I don't live in California, but I was able to find what @BigMoneyGrip referenced.

State Price Gouging Laws: California law (Penal Code Section 396) prohibits landlords from increasing rents by more than 10% during declared emergencies. And Newsom proclaimed a state of emergency on the first day of the fires.

City of Los Angeles Rent Control: The city enforces rent control under the Rent Stabilization Ordinance (RSO).

County of Los Angeles Rent Control: Rent stabilization also exists for unincorporated areas in the county under rules implemented in 2019.

You see that @Bunchy Carter ? You dummy

Like I said before you do not know what your talking about.

The rent was increased by 124%, they could have put laws in place to prevent this from happening.

Like I said before you do not know what your talking about because if you read Pen 396, it only last 30 days.

The rent was increased by 124%
Did you actually read the NY Post article? It clearly states that what these landlords are doing is illegal, and that the mayor is urging people to report them for violating the law. This isn't a legislation issue, it's an enforcement issue. Officials are aware of the problem, too. As far as the protections only lasting for 30 days from a declared state of emergency, the governor can and often does extend them. He has that authority and has exercised it in the past. I don't have to live in your state to read and understand things. You're just an extremely dishonest person who cares more about playing the blame game than telling the truth. Or you don't actually understand anything yourself.

What I said is the truth the Democrats can fix this issue over night and enforce it over night. They do it all the time when it comes to Black people, they put laws in place just like gang injunction, drug laws, etc and they enforce them immediately against Black people lol. They can do the same with the White people, who own the property commiting these crimes, but they choose not to do it.

You're babbling. You made a false claim and now you're trying to deflect.

The Democratic ran Los Angeles City Council could have quickly put in place rent control measures to prevent this from happening.

The Inglewood City Council Did this back in 2019, when landlords were increasing the rent:
This was WRONG. Those measures are already in place. Enforcement of them was the problem, which is also being addressed.

They need enforce, arrest them and put them in jail. It's like how there are laws which targeted Black people, that they enforce, arrest them and throw those Black people in jail.

I don't care that they put charges on them, criminal charge is a formal accusation made, being charged doesn't mean the accused is guilty

How is that hard to understand
