I agree Fellowship of the Ring is the best movie. I remember sitting in the movie theater so pissed when FOTR ended, because I knew I'd have to wait a year to watch the next one.

Is return of the king over yet?
Oh hell no. I still remember being in the theater with my bro, we were like please fukkin end alreadyI agree Fellowship of the Ring is the best movie. I remember sitting in the movie theater so pissed when FOTR ended, because I knew I'd have to wait a year to watch the next one.
Is it a weird complaint that I like visual effects but hated the overuse of it in The Hobbit? I thought The Hobbit was ass and the second was good. Is the third movie even worth watching? I have to rewatch the Star Wars prequels again to see if they hold up.
Not at all. Nothing in the Hobbit movies felt real so therefore we weren't emotionally connected to the story or characters. LOTR used CGI to enhance the story where needed but still gave us a lot of practical effects, makeup, etc. so that everything felt real and fully realized. The Hobbit, just like the prequels OD'd on the CGI to the point where it took me out of the story.
Just compare these two fight scenes. One is raw, intense, emotional and visceral. The other is entertaining to watch but ultimately feels like a video game.
Uruk hai were the my favorites in the original trilogy. I can't watch that 2nd video, 10 seconds in and I'm upset already. It's like when you see a 3D model on top of a prerendered background - it stands out so badly and ruins it. Smaug was dope though.
fvcking ewoks messed up jedi for meOff the strength of Empire Strikes Back being the best movie of all in either trilogy, and that laughable 4-part ending in Return of the King, Star Wars takes the crown.
