LOTR has two great movies and a solid flick and star wars has 1 classic, 1 solid, and a trash flick under its belt.....LOTR gets the nod from me no matter how good Empire strikes back is it still doesnt make up for return of the jedi

I just think the LOTR films are stronger. Especially on a character level. After watching LOTR you feel like all the main characters got put through the gauntlet to save Middle Earth. Damn, I'm bout to binge watch both trilogies over the break. I think STAR WARS is incredible and is an iconic film saga, though.

It's sad how badly Peter Jackson has fallen off. Crazy that a dude who made a movie as imaginative, majestic and emotional as Fellowship of the Ring could make something as bloated and soulless as the Hobbit trilogy

I feel like LOTR is a little bit more consistent with all 3 movies. Return is a great movie and my favorite of the trilogy , while I love Jedi, it's definitely inferior to Empire and New Hope.
