Which is the better epic film trilogy and universe? Lord of The Rings or Star Wars?

It might be blasphemous, but I'm going with the LORD OF THE RINGS TRILOGY. Those films are flawless to me. I cared so much about every character. The evolution of the story was incredible. I think it's the greatest trilogy of all time.

Now, you can drop your thoughts on the whole LOTR universe vs. The STAR WARS universe as well. I excluded The Hobbit and The Star Wars Prequels, because most people were disappointed with both. But feel free to compare them as a whole if you want. I think these 2 film Universes are the greatest of all time.

Lord of The Sleep? Really? :what:

If you like Star Wars more, that's fine. But at least say why you think it's the better franchise.

the best star wars movies destroy the best lotr movies, it's as simple as that.

return of the king had like 5 different action climaxes that went on for like 15 minutes a piece.:russell:

Lord of The Rings has a more epic battle scene than Star Wars in Return of The King. And in The Two Towers.
it goes on for like an hour bro.

army appears on horseback, big speech, chargeeeeeeeee.... more fighting....more fighting.... cue the giant elephants.... cue the disgusting CGI.... more fighting.....

shyt takes like 40 minutes! it's just endless action! so bloated.

Slight edge to LOTR. Star Wars films were more entertaining. LOTR films were better acted and more emotional. LOTR was just more consistent as a trilogy while Return of the Jedi, while still good, was a significant step below ANH and Empire

Also Fellowship of the Ring is as good of a movie as you can possibly make based on the source material. While the Two Towers and Return of the King had their issues FOTR is still the best example I've seen of a film adaptation remaining faithful to the source material while still having its own identity.

I'd rank them FOTR=Empire Strikes Back>>>>>Return of the King>>>>A New Hope>>>>>The Two Towers>>>>>Return of the Jedi

New hope is mediocre buts gets a pass for innovation. Return is a bad film made purer to sell merchandise, its crazy how fans continue flipping sides on that movie. Empire is by far the best star wars film created in terms of story, acting and overall cinematic spectacle.

Every original Rings film is consistent with one another regardless of how you fill about them. I contribute that to a better source material and a grounded director. You can't say this but any of the star wars films.

I agree Fellowship of the Ring is the best movie. I remember sitting in the movie theater so pissed when FOTR ended, because I knew I'd have to wait a year to watch the next one.

LOTR was filmed differently... it was 3 films goins in.. filmed all at once...
SW was 1 film going in then 2 more later.. and filmed years apart..

Taking effects out of the equation gotta say Star Wars...
