Netflix and Amazon are the only companies outside of HBO that can give it a proper budget. And they will. Look at how much money Netflix spent on Marco Polo. The series wasn't good, but the production value was amazing. And Jeff Bezos is chasing this personally, he'll spend whatever it takes it to make it look good. They just need great creatives involved.

HBO is WB so why not do it themselves?

Peter Jackson already pimped the franchise to death.

There’s other worthy Sci-fi/Fantasy Series with fresher mythologies that could be adapted.

if they do it right it will trump GOT (which is my favourite tv show ever)

like:

multi-seasons on sauron's story in middle earth:
-the come up under morgoth + plus all the war fukkery with balrog armies etc.
-post morgoth
-the come up as a boss
-the story of the nazgul
-the war against the last alliance
-the fall off and come up after the defeat



each one of these could stretch out over a few seasons

but if they try to make some kid friendly hobbit shyt or base it around gollum then
