Sometimes (as in once in a blue moon) i do wonder whether white folks have the same discourse about their own music artists, as you see on here about the evolution of hip hop n r&b artists.
Because it felt like they had their own golden era in the late 90s: Backstreet Boys, N'Sync, Brittany, Christina, Eminem, Limp Bizkit, Creed, etc. Defnitely had white middle schoolers on lock but also just felt acknowled everywehre. I ain't gonna lie, they did have some catchy ish, if not bangers.
But past that, i know over the course of the last 20 years that Linkin Park, Lady Gaga, Adele, and ofc now Taylor Swift ran ish but i dunno if they had that same collection of emerging young talent peaking at the same time. Granted maybe there were and i just stopped payin attention once i got to high school.
