Sometimes (as in once in a blue moon) i do wonder whether white folks have the same discourse about their own music artists, as you see on here about the evolution of hip hop n r&b artists.

Because it felt like they had their own golden era in the late 90s: Backstreet Boys, N'Sync, Brittany, Christina, Eminem, Limp Bizkit, Creed, etc. Defnitely had white middle schoolers on lock but also just felt acknowled everywehre. I ain't gonna lie, they did have some catchy ish, if not bangers.

But past that, i know over the course of the last 20 years that Linkin Park, Lady Gaga, Adele, and ofc now Taylor Swift ran ish but i dunno if they had that same collection of emerging young talent peaking at the same time. Granted maybe there were and i just stopped payin attention once i got to high school.

Nah, The Osmonds bit the shyt outta the Jackson 5 back in the day.

I always thought the Osmonds were more “white” music. Their concept of a “family” act came from the jackson 5. Never really viewed them as that link. But now, you make a good point. The more you know.

NKOTB was huge and it was baffling. So many other black groups who could sing and dance. I guess when you think of it they appealed to the huge mass of white kids who wanted them

They still your and are doing numbers amazingly. I know this old classmate and she goes to at least of their concerts a year with a group of 6 other chicks They go on the cruises and all
As you pointed out, the white underage female population far exceeded every other race, and white girls find white males attractive.

It takes a certain kind of cac to listen to that shyt doesn't it? I can't imagine the cacs with long hair and leather jackets who listen to hard rock music are also listening to Backstreet Boys

I’m sure they do, I bet white old heads probably feel a type of way about the different versions of rock
