Nah other boy bands had girls fanning out over every member or 80% of them. Justin isn’t some supermodel to carry a group like that :dame:
Bro them white teens and older white women loved that mf. And some of the other ones too despite them just looking like bland crackers. But one lead singer is more than enough for back then. That’s like how Brittney spears (pause) is probably the same attractive level as he would be considered. Just regular looking white folks with played up sex appeal.. but they loved them..and grown men was thirsty for her barely legal ass too. Same shyt with 98 degrees. Women didn’t care bout nobody other than the lashay guy really, but that’s all they needed

What’s even funnier is Eminem singlehandedly ended that era. He roasted the shyt out of them on every single. One minute boy bands was all over and the next every white boy wore baggy jeans and wanted to rap. :russ:
When Justin left and went solo they basically rolled over and died. Like overnight. White girls didn’t care about Eminem dissing them to where they would stop being fans (that’s white boys). Justin hooked up with Pharrell and took a deeper white soul rnb sound lol and the other lead singers took note and went solo as well hoping to reach his success at the time.

The way they destroyed the black boy band and remade *NSYNC and BSB in its image gotta be studied dawg. The first of the lab rats were New Kids On The Block and that was fathered by the ex manager of New Edition, the more you know
NKOTB was huge and it was baffling. So many other black groups who could sing and dance. I guess when you think of it they appealed to the huge mass of white kids who wanted them

They still your and are doing numbers amazingly. I know this old classmate and she goes to at least of their concerts a year with a group of 6 other chicks They go on the cruises and all

It's weird that JC didn't have a successful solo career looking back.
He had that one song from Drumline that was even getting play on BET and nothing else was successful.
Yea blowing me up. Song was dope. I guess he just didn't have the charisma and star power of Justin

I was gonna mention that. Had a semi hit track on drumline soundtrack. That might have been the only original song on that soundtrack. He really could’ve been that Robin Thick conduit between “black famous/white famous”. The industry is tough. It’s like the white kids weren’t supporting the BET side of him. :mjpls:

They might’ve been the first white “boy band”. :jbhmm:

Boy Bands were a black staple really up until NKOTB. Mainly because of that derivative jackson 5 RnB element. Finding 5 white kids who could sing and dance and do RnB was out of the norm. So NKOTB was really the first of their kind. :jbhmm:

No you're exactly right. They are the blueprint when it comes to white boy bands. They walked so nsync and Backstreet could run

I think he went down the wrong musical path. He's possibly the best pure white male singer I ever heard in my life. I think he would have had more success if he went down the R&B route. These three vocal performances lead me to believe that:

^They should have just let JC do the whole song

^Jodeci cover. JC killed it. Some of the others. :hhh:

^ JC's part 3:00 to 3:30
