Gave me a lot more respect for wrestlers

U just...go out there and train? That sounds like a ballin vacation

A guy i train with went to states for wrestling, dude is a fukkin monster breh :whoo:

I wish i went out there just to train, my girl is from Vegas so we go out to visit her mom, and i hate long layoffs, plus Vinny has been my favorite grappler for awhile, so i wanted to see what i could pick up from dude.

Post was well written as always Lukie, but I believe that this situation won't improve until the stigma that follows MMA is dispelled. When I ask people why they aren't fans of MMA, I get the typical "It's boring" "It's just guys laying on each other" "I prefer boxing answers". MMA is becoming more and more mainstream, but it's still not to the point that people accept it and take it seriously. Until that happens, and journalists see that it's a lucrative venture to report on it, we're stuck with Ariel.

I agree 100%

When I talk about it, I use the expression "getting caught masterbating". If you catch someone watching MMA, the reaction tends to be, "Oh no, I don't like really like this".

The writing though makes the problem even worse, since the media works to help promote for UFC sometimes without knowing it, because they don't know what to cover hence the outbreak of Aldo vs Frankie piece that will come out in the final month of this year when Frankie cuts to 145

Very true. a lot of the times when I read MMA articles I really wonder where they're getting their sources and opinions from. It's like they'll just browse through social media, see what's trending, and just go that direction with it. Instead of doing the research, learning the history, and forming their own informed opinion.

anyone catch the media call? jones basically drew a line on TRT users and the next journalist to ask a question didnt even have enough awareness to press hendesron on his opinion. :snoop:

A little of it.

This is the problem though... reporters will say "oh, he is 40 so it makes sense".

No one probably looked at this site or even found out about the ratio Hendo is at before the fight and to be honest Dana doesn't want it asked. He mocked BJ for taking Vada testing before the Rory fight and magically Rory gets a bad cut when testing was set to begin (not saying that he did it on purpose, but important to remember when it happened).

The fact is most reporters think in black and white with Vada Testing and do not try to understand what is fully happening. The fact is a lot of these guys getting TRT are former roiders who are using TRT to be able to keep up their cycles, just look at how quiet people were when Chael got his TRT for the rematch. No stories, no worries - it was as if it was a non issue.

I thought TRT was to replace the depleted levels of testosterone due to years of roid abuse..You think these cats are using TRT and still roiding?

Bad choice of words.

I meant, people who used roids in the past are now using TRT to get their test levels up since they no longer can produce certain hormones due to the roids.

This small confusion we are having is why 99% of the media avoids talking about this subject, because it is very much a detail business and not something of the arts

Remember that article that i talked about on the show about a month back? This is the point that Dr was trying to make.

Some of these guys try to make it out to seem as though their bodies dont produce enough testosterone...problem is, it would have been a problem since puberty in many cases, and you know good and goddamn well these guys were elite athletes in high school/college.

I feel as though TRT is a crutch for some of these guys
