Well for whatever it's worth many people in the SEAL community are dismissive(if they don't outright laugh) at Luttrel and his exploits.

Did you know the guy that this movie is based on had his PTSD dog murdered randomly by two dudes for no reason? He chased them down and called the cops saying "Someone killed my dog, I'm chasing them and I've got guns, they've got guns, so there is about to be a gunfight if you don't get here quick" he and the police found the two guys and one of them served prison time the other got probation. The dog was named after the other squad members that died, it was his best friend. Just adds so much more :to:

great movie about 1/3 of the audience applauded at the end, it was packed friday night, I havent read the book how close is it to the movie and how close do you think it is to reality. I mean when you think about it, he was the only one who survived so we can only go off his story

can you elaborate
Well both former and actual SEALs(and other people who are 'in the know' or can make educated guesses) feel that Luttrell's account was not very plausible, and that even if it was, he had no business writing a book or making a movie.

The movie is TYPICAL American war propaganda...

The whole movie was to glorify American Special Forces, but it had the opposite effect on me...It made me realize there is NOTHING heroic about going to someone else's country and dying like a dog over there...To me those Seals are not heroes, they are just dumb patriots who drank the Kool-Aid and paid the ultimate price...

But past the politics of the movies...It was entertaining...I agree, when they were tumbling down the hill I was like :damn:

I didn't like the fact that they didn't ALWAYS put subtitles when the Afghans were talking...They obviously do this to dehumanize them as savages, while the Americans are civilized heroes...

If you like a American war propaganda, then it is a good movie...But if you a person with multiple perspectives, don't think too much, just enjoy the action...

:comeon: tried to neg you but little did i realize i already negged u earlier for another little fakkit type of post. you must be a real man :comeon:

great movie and :salute: to the men that died doing their duty. the war may be a lie but their courage is not. they are the ones that do whats necessary so some of you little fakkits can sit behind a computer at home and talk shyt about them and besmirch their memory. those were men with families who died courageously doing their duty. we may not agree with the motive behind the war, i sure as hell dont, but they still have a job to do and they do it bravely without crying.
