All this shine Lopez is getting should have been Devin Haney's, but Loma ducked him like a little bytch. Anyone saying 'Why should Lopez have to fight Haney to be undisputed?' gotta be a casual or a CAC, Loma blatantly ducked Haney and watch Lopez talking all this shyt and he aint about to go anywhere near Haney either. shyt is sad and it always happens to black fighters, happened to Spence and Jermall Charlo as well.
Not a black/white thing.

I really wish Mikey could've stayed at 135 to KO Loma. All these young cats should want to fight Mikey, including Haney. Had to move up for the cash SMH.

I think the issues are the promoters. If the “Sanctioning bodies” acted as individual leagues they could imo work out the major deals with networks and then the unifications could be cross platform or ppv events.

i noticed boxers dont even really have sponsor shil deals with footwear/athletic wear companies. Anthony Joshua seems to be the only one i can think of.

the issue going forward is nobody wants to take the risk associated with what it would take to get boxers major payouts.

in this post you pretty much nailed several issues with fights getting made and fighters getting paid

promoters not working together outside of a purse bid has always been a thing in boxing...its all about getting a political hold...thats why it took damn near 40 years for a don king to finally be irrelevant in boxing..when they do work together theres always some sort of agenda involved or the pot is big enough for whoever to share lol

with money - floyd's legacy to boxing is how he got paid and what he did...unfortunately most fighters copy some aspects of his blueprint and not everything...so you see the p*ssyfooting that some of these guys do with regards on who they need to face..some become entitled

most boxers also do not fully explore the avenues of endorsements or they are not on the radar of most companies like a joshua, or canelo, or ggg etc etc..its always been the cats who have crossed over that got those opportunities

exactly. Like IMO if I'm a boxer I'm trying to get my long money via endorsements. Like even back in the day, imagine if Nike sponsored Mike Tyson and the stuff they could have sold. IMO it's a win win. we are probably approaching a future where big gatherings will be much more limited, which means there will be a cap on the revenue of gate tickets and concessions. In that event incentivize it for Major Networks to take on that risk. That world series of Boxing thing is a dope idea to me. Like I mentioned before let each sanctioning body work out Network deals, so that every fight they having going on matters. Let the Unification bouts be an annual or every 2 yr major event, thus there is a true high stake thing to look forward to where everyone will be willing to pay for the PPV or see the fight in person.

Disney (which owns ESPN) can take that risk to get viewers by any means especially if it helps them sell their streaming services and or gets people watching ESPN which = Ad revenue. They got way more pull than a Promoter can, who needs their money up front.

Teofimo starches Haney.

If imma c00n for that .. then y’all are lame for thinking that :mjlol:
Nah doesn't make you a c00n we all have opinions. I'm fairly confident haney will dust teofimo though, haney is much bigger than loma and actually good on his backfoot. Having a reach and perceived speed advantage will give teofimo issues when trying to counter. It'll be a good fight theirs a reason none of the top guys want to fight him and make up all types of excuses.

“If I took that fight, it’s just for bragging rights, just to shut him up and destroy his career,” Lopez said during a post-fight press conference Saturday night at MGM Grand. “That’s really what it is. I don’t care. That’s the type of person I am. I’m not here to see another fighter build up his career. If he wants to take that step and fight, I’m more than happy to just take him out that route of what everybody’s talking about, saying [he is] the next Floyd Mayweather and stuff like that. Yeah, get outta here with that bullsh-t.”
“I don’t mind beating the two-time email world champion,” Lopez said. “You know what I mean? That’ll be fine, you know? I know a lot of people are already saying that this [win against Lomachenko is] not for undisputed because of that, [WBC president] Mauricio Sulaiman and whatever he did. But I just got a belt that said, ‘franchise world champion,’ from the WBC. And you’ve got a guy like Devin Haney fighting Gamboa, a washed-out Gamboa, just for a record that he wants to keep it safe and pretty. I could fight those guys [Haney, others]. I don’t mind it.”

“I don’t care,” Lopez said. “I don’t think any of these guys will step up to the plate. And if they do, they better be ready because I don’t fear no man. I told you guys this. I don’t care. I’m in there to fight, and if you’re not there to fight with me, you’re gonna lose, like Loma.”

We'll see

Now Bradley is saying he's Roy Jones reborn
"Lopez impressed me. I knew that he was special, but on Saturday he showed everybody that he's a superstar. There are stars and there are superstars, and superstars typically do things just a little bit different than a typical star to reach that next level. The attributes that Lopez has -- how brash he is, how confident he is -- add in his timing, his power, all of those things together make him a superstar," Bradley said.
"He kind of reminds me, with his speed, his timing, his reflexes and quick decisions on the fly, of a young Roy Jones Jr., one of my favorite fighters of all time."
