People be frontin on LL. Like he’s had the ideal career for any musician let alone rapper. He always comes back when you count him out. He was absolutely THE MAN when he dropped. I was a little kid then but I knew. He had the coldest intro for a rapper to me which was his scene in Krush Groove

Cool J ain’t my favorite rapper by a long shot but his impact is something that can’t be denied

LL Cool J played a big role in keeping hip hop popular in the 1980s and ruled the charts in the 1990s. He definitely has a point about his impact on the genre.

If I were to make a list of the top ten most important hip hop artists ever, it would be crazy to leave him off. His talent, style, and ability to appeal to a wide audience helped shape hip hop and make it what it is today. He’s a key figure in the history of the music.
