Yall stay trynna put black people in boxes. Black musicians should be able to make whatever music they want to without fear of alienating yall.
They also shouldn’t be immune to criticism or people’s opinions either. :yeshrug:

I keep hearing she’s talented but I keep seeing her strip down to almost nothing for attention. If her music speaks for herself, why resort to antics more befitting of Cardi B or Meg Stallion, who have to play up to a hyper sexual image to sell records?

Everyone fukked with Missy Elliott from day one, even when she crossed over to the mainstream because her music was that good. Black white, male female, she never had to resort to selling sex or ass out antics like Lizzo because her talent speaks for itself.

Her music is too formulaic and has no soul in it while trying to sound soulful, but I don't know why she's being singled out because she's definitely not alone. Most modern black music is white people music with a black face on it. It is some soulless, rhythmless hipsters pushing what's "hot"and which artist are "it" and that's a big reason why music is so stale today.

There is not enough raw organic talent and too many classically trained artist who follow a template to making music. You can't make soulful music doing things "by the numbers."
