Not ashamed to say I live in my parent's old house. It's in great shape and would have went to shyt if I didn't take it over. It beats having rent or mortgage and considering this single father ish has me not working I know I could be in that boat. I'll always be thankful for what I do have.

Shiiiiiiit that's a W!

The homeless problem is big and getting bigger.

Maybe this has been a thing, but I just noticed it in the last year. I always wondered why people were parked way off in the far back corner. Then I paid attention how packed their cars be with possessions. Then I noticed the RVs back there too and it hit me.

Man god bless this country and everyone that's hurting.
Its been going on for a while.:francis: This is 10 years old and it's one of many documentaries on living in Walmart parking lots. Apparently, Walmart has a relaxed approach to this issue.

There was an Oscar winner in 2021, Nomadland, about this issue and those people.

You see it everywhere in San Diego, people living in their cars. Up and down streets, by parks. RV's eveywhere and homeless without cars or RV.'s.

The NY Times did a feature awhile back, about people who lived at the fukking airport.

i read this in 2016, what the fukk lol

Depends on location . When I used to go to Walmart , they had a no parking overnight sign.

Richest country in the world and housing is so unaffordable is disturbing .
🤮 .
So sad
It really isnt tho. Everyone wants to live in the same 20 cities and 5 states . You can still get 80k , 100k, 150k houses in most of the Midwest states and a lot of the southern states. Even as a renter 800 or 900 dollar rent is still a thing there, so even if the pay is lower than the mega cities, it more than balances out.

Hell, if god forbid 900 dollar rent is too high for you, these same states have 500 , 400, and 600 room mate contracts.

You'd be surprised how many Americans are one missed paycheck away from being homeless.

I was homeless after I got out of prison. During winter. Them shelters are worse than any jail, that's why a lot of people don't sleep in the shelters
:merchant: Damn. How bad does a shelter have to be that jail is more preferable?

If you drive by any patch of woods now...there's some makeshift or even actual tents. I'm in Jacksonville Florida.

The city is ordering police to tear down the homeless tent cities that line the side of some roads downtown. I think the police complied a few weeks but they eventually give up.

The shelters have lines around the block hours before intake.

Shyt is depressing.

Sadly this is what Republicans voted for...if they voted Democrat in 2000....we wouldn't have homelessness...
