My co worker lives in Winder. I just spoke with her and she pretty shook up. Her son a senior and attends the high school right up the road from there so it's close to home.

All the schools were let out early and her husband picked up the son. I told her she should leave but working is keeping her mind from worrying

At that age they just don't know the seriousness of such a drill. It's fun.

But when Uvalde happened my youngest was the same age as those kids killed and I literally started crying. It's still hurts my heart, that shooting more than any other gets to me.

When literally minutes after a bunch of babies were killed in Sandy Hook republicans were already talking about “you’re not taking our guns”

I said then and there if this doesn’t move these people to at least meet in the middle we are never gonna do anything about this type of stuff in my lifetime

Co worker son called her. He heard that it was supposed to be a targeted shooting at all 4 of the local high schools. It was planned by a group.

Not 100% if true but that is what he has heard. It could take days to confirm if true

I have a 5th grader and a 7th grader. Couple years ago when they did their lock down drill my youngest when I picked them up, tells me, "daddy we had our lockdown drill and i found the best hiding place behind the teacher desk. The bad person would never find me."
