Hmmm
I wonder how they're going to get the murder charge to stick

Coli lawyers? :jbhmm:
Need more facts but maybe it will come under the legal theory of “Party to a Crime”, likely related to him providing the kid with a gun. A kid he already knew was making threats to shoot up a school. This came fast - he must have done some real fukked up sh!t:patrice:

Georgia enacted the 2nd degree murder statute 10 years ago. It specifically deals with the death of a human being that comes as the result of the commission of cruelty to children in the 2nd degree. So it looks like they are going to say he was abusing the kid, and somehow as a result he went and shot up the school killing 4 people. Might be a knee jerk reaction. We’ll see how they intend to prove the cruelty to the kid resulted in those deaths.

Interesting

Does that play potentially hinder chances the killer doesn't get punished to the fullest?

Manslaughter, Child Abuse and Criminal Negligence can all stick. Murder not so much if they didn't directly plan or directly fashion the weapon. But that's up here in MI. I don't know the law in GA.

This situation is a separate statute known as Felony Murder due to a co-felon being killed by the victim during the commission of a felony.

It could be used as a mitigating factor. He did what he did because he was abused by his father Judge. Could you please show him some mercy?

But he killed 4 people. So that ain’t gonna do much.

Now I’m seeing after the Feds investigated them in May last year, he then turned around and bought his kid an AR-15 for Christmas?

The father gave the son the gun for Christmas, AFTER he was investigated by the FBI. He told the FBI he would not have any access to any firearms under his care.

Then he went and bought him an AR-15.

Dude is not only guilty ASF, he most likely wanted this outcome.

This right here is the most American thing ever, in a damn nutshell.
