I know someone who met Biggie and it was around that time Shawn was around him.

But he sonned him in a disrespectful manner. Nobody thought AZ was going to be a super star, nor did he have to be. I detest the Stoute mind frame of endless perpetual growth where everything and everyone has to be the biggest most successful thing ever. AZ's career started very well. He had a radio hit before Nas did, he had a nice blueprint for future albums too. While subsequent albums didn't do what they were expected to do I feel that's partially on the label situation (including Stoute), partially on AZ, and partially on the changing of the market.

End of the day AZ is chilling, doing what he wants to do today.

I think AZ COULD have been a star had his label situations panned out. Dude struck out on like three different label situations in a row. There’s no excuse for why an album like AZiatic didn’t go platinum.

Just the luck of the draw for him. He’s still a top 25 rapper of all time in my book.
