I feel like Joe has been a bit reluctant to praise Phonte/LB compared to Rory and Parks (does Mal even know about them?). I remember a previous episode when Rory was talking about Phonte's last solo album, and Joe kind of moved on rapidly.

Perfect album...these men did it right... Top notch quality, polished production sounded like it was produced with live instruments...A1 lyrical content...all guests were dope melodically....skits was jokes...this is really my favorite right now...This year in Hip-Hop has surprised me...A lot of good stuff in the midst of trash being pushed in the forefront. So far for me it's been This album, Bandana, Lost Tapes 2, and TrillStatik as the top albums of the year. Hopefully Game delivers on Born To Rap to finish out the year.

Naw he was praising phonte for his verse and applauding them for carrying the mature rapper flag. I remember him saying though he did have some kinda convo with phonte and he said he was rubbed the wrong way with how phonte responded but it wasnt anything serious. And Mal does know them. Rory has gone on numerous times how Phonte is in his Top 10-15 of all time ans sings their praises, so i get why he was more hyped to talk about it than the others (that might be why i followe him on twitter all those years ago cuz he was talking bout phonte’s “slow it down” verse) I just dont think Joe got to the album yet to really go in

I'm assuming something to do with Phonte backing out of the battle with Joe, Royce and Mr. Fab?
