No I'm not, I NEVER claimed that it would be an easy victory for a gorilla, and I acknowledged it being a good question.
I simply stated that a lion by itself might not be able to kill a gorilla without taking damage. And that a gorilla has more than enough strength to slam or beat a lion while it's being attacked by one.
I just don't think a lion could take a few blows from a gorilla without being significantly injured or killed.
that wasn't my point, koko the gorilla also had an extensive sign language. how is any of that going to translate to a W against a damn lion

Well Gorillas aren't predators.
Lions are.
People just look at apes and think "well, they're strong...." but that's not really the point.
Gorillas are largely passive animals that eat vegetation.
Lions are predators with supreme hunting abilities.
That said, lions would probably never encounter or hunt a gorilla.
A quick google search shows that only leopards do.

I feel like it could go either way. If the lion gets the gorilla by the throat, it's over. But if the gorilla can fend off the lion from that, he could probably snap his neck.
