I dunno if you guys remember that QD3 Lil Wayne Documentary that dropped in 09 but it basically showed Lil Wayne's life at the time. He'd basically drink lean and record all day.

I'd imagine none of the shyt had any meaning to him. They were just a collection of songs they released upon an endless collection of songs he recorded at the time.

Understandable, asking about Waynes earlier work is more a question for Gillie and Sqad Up.

The drugs definitely got to him, but he's not the only artist that's said stuff like this. Nas said a couple years ago that he doesn't remember what songs are on which albums or how they're sequenced, and doesn't go back and listen to them. "Lose Yourself" is Eminem's most well-known song, and he didn't remember recording the original version of it until Paul Rosenberg told him about it. He didn't even remember being in the "Still D.R.E." video, but Snoop did.

Wayne's been consistent about not remembering things. He didn't remember the "Lollipop" remix, even when the verse was being rapped to him. He told Eminem a few years ago that he has to look up his own lines because he most likely used the line already. The more material you have, the harder it is to remember. And in Wayne's case, they're just songs to him. Verses he probably rapped over different beats, and they were probably just one-verse songs that were put together with other verses to make new songs. He'll remember songs/albums he grew up with and influenced him, but not his own work.

While it sounds funny, Nas is low key on that same shyt. A lot of successful people are really, in the sense that they’re always moving forward and don’t think anything about the past. It’s essentially a stoic way of living.

But not even remembering any of that shyt? Yeah, that’s the drugs. :snoop:

When you factor the number of songs rappers like nas and lil wayne recorded, not to mention the songs we never heard, and considering the fact that rap verse are far more complicated to memorize than other genras songs, I would be actually impress if they remember half of it

I cant recall a single song he did during that period other than lollipop and I heard plenty. Everyone was playing him, he was everywhere. But those mixtape songs were so many and hashed out fast I dont blame him.
