That’s what happens when you make unforgettable microwave music that has aged poorly
This is basically it. Anything else is nikkas complicating itDude been rapping since he was 9 and trusted his peers and OG’s to handle everything else for him since day one. Considering the bad business dealings he’s been involved in, I can believe Wayne is negligent when it comes to anything outside of recording music, drinking lean, smoking weed and fukking hoes.
ExactlyI believe him...Stephen King was so doped up early in his career that he didn't even remember writing Cujo...
This just reminded me that Gucci released 100 albums throughout a 3 year prison sentenceWayne outside of maybe Gucci has probably thousands of songs, mixtapes that are accessible, Wayne is 40 and been rapping since he was 14, mixed in with heavy lean use and smoking multiple 3.5 backwoods daily and not sleeping I believe him.
he would literally record in his hotel room or trailer after a night of clubbing and performing.
he's the man for saying this
I have a bad memory and call it the gift and the curse too
its a curse to never remember shyt ... but its a gift to me because I dont be giving a fukk
thats what makes Lil Wayne an artist that can actually produce music ... he's an actual musician... not just some puppet practicing dance moves and the same song for entertainment purposes. there have been 7 day weeks where Wayne has probably written and recorded more songs than some artists do in that entire year
people saying drugs are square as fukk. nobody on earth is remembering over 1000 songs. If he had a good memory from the jump he wouldnt have written so many songs. nobody here can name track 7 off Squad Up tape number 4... or track 15 off drought 1. You would have to be sick mentally to organize and review work you did 20 years ago just to show people two decades later in interviews that you remember.
Even Prince was on stage with teleprompter in case he forgot the words to all them songs he wrote. You think if I was like "Feburary 9th 1992, which song did you write Prince?" there's no way he's gonna care about any of that
I dont think what we consider the biggest event of his career in a mainstream sense, means the same as what he feels is important. He's been just recording songs and like other people said... the management and team just compile it for him. Purple Rain, Thriller and Illmatic are pivotal career defining, feature film worthy projects that jump started an artists peak. I would bet Wayne remembers Bling Bling or the Block is Hot before he remembers any of the random tracks he's recorded and compiled.I definitely see your point and agree with it, but this isn't just someone asking Wayne about a random song that leaked back in 2007. He's being asked about arguably the most important album of his career, the one that was highly anticipated, went platinum in its first week, and cemented his place as a mainstream star. And he has no memory of it or feelings about it. It would be like Prince not remembering Purple Rain, or Nas not remembering Illmatic, or MJ not remembering Thriller. There are some moments as an artist that stay with you forever. If Wayne remembers nothing about that specific time and can't even name a song off the biggest album of his career, did anything stay with him?
It’s funny cause that’s exactly how his music sounds. Just a bunch of gibberish. Nothing thought provoking or heartfelt
