Why Dude Acting Like Aaliyah Was A Nobody?

The R Kelly Controversy, Albums Sold Well, She Was In Movies, She Won A Grammy

Did You Forget When That Timbo, Missy, Ginuwine, Aaliyah Core Was Running shyt :usure:

She Was No Beyonce, And YES She Got More Popular After Her Death, But To Lump Her In With Ciara Is Mad Insulting lol

the real question is, WHY ARE YOU ACTING as if im acting like aaliyah was a nobody. I never said anything like that. and I prolly know more about aaliyah than all yall that's arguing with me.

what did aalyiah run by herself? that's the question. by your logic, total & 112 are the goats.

the Ciara thing isn't an insult. yall are just taking it that way. if yall stop being so defensive about it, you would agree actually. I mean, who the hell else can I compare aaliyah to from this era in order to translate this chit? Ciara is the perfect example.

Only Reason Shes Compared To Ciara Is Of Their Look, THATS IT

If The Closest Thing You Can Compare To Aaliyah Is Ciara Then Dont Bother Comparing :manny:

She Wasnt Huge Like Rhiana And Beyonce But She Wasnt As Small Scale As Ciara Either, She Fell Somewhere In The Middle

theres a chitload of comparisons that I can make between aaliyah & Ciara.

and Ciara's 1st 2 albums were big deals, at least for her era. hell, her 1st joint had bigger songs(again, for her era) than aalyiah's first joint.

it sounds like you just don't like Ciara. she wasn't small scale at all. youre the one showing bias buddy.

I Dont Care About Either One Of Them :heh: Its Just Fact That Their Popularity At The Height Of Their Career Is NOT Comparable

THANK YOU!!!!!!

:salute:

youre taking the things I say as insults.

youre saying that Ciara is an afterthought. but I never said that.

3rd wheel is a snide remark, I must admit. but its true. she was the clear #3. and you even admitted it, even tho you tried to dance around it.

3rd album was a dud amongst the competition. the female r&b game was crowded and she was laggin. lets not revise.

no offense, but the world is bigger than you and your friends at a house party. aalyiah's death was bigger than biggie's?:laff:
Ciara is an afterthought, how many people ever had Ciara as their favorite or their must buy artist? Why you think she's flopped three albums in a row

She wasn't #3 tho, what I SAID is she got booted by brandy in 94 but snatched that spot back/clearly was just as beloved by 96/97 with ONIAM (esp by girls not in love with brandy's squeaky clean image), Monica was her own lane but fell the fukk off after her second album in 98...Aaliyah was no where near being the third wheel

Globally, was her death bigger than biggie's? No, but out here, with my generation, yes, we were more upset over her loss than big, don't know why that's hard to fathom. We were still young and a generation of kids who were raised under the influence of PAC and all his ire, it's not hard to see how high school kids would shed more tears for Aaliyah than we did in middle/elementary school over Big.

She wasn't lagging anyone/anything on her third album except her, rock the boat and more than a woman were dope singles, death or not, we need a resolution was the only one that was lukewarm. Loose rap, extra smooth, I care 4 u, those were the days, It's whatever we're certified bangers. Her album wasn't the as dope as the second, but no where would anyone call it a dud.

Official TLC ‏@TheReal_TLC 4h
Master P (reference in the movie) is really about Suge Knight FYI #CrazySexyCool

is that their real twitter?

lol. I bet master p was smiling his ass off watching that scene.

And :laff: at them straight sidestepping my nikka Suge, hate to see my goat label head Rodney Dangerfield status.

they prolly side-stepped him because if they mentioned his name, he would be doing an interview right now concerning that chit and prolly putting chilli's business out there, and joking about beating up usher.

it would be classic. i'd like to see him clown mack 10 again as well. t-boz owes suge a debt of gratitude since he apparently sonned both of her abusers. he single-handedly ended jodeci.:laff:
All them nikkas lives is more interesting than Ginuwine:ufdup:...I know them nikkas got some tales:pachaha:...but I digress because those movies ain't possible...and we bring up Aaliyah because that one is possible and one we actually wanna see:heh:

Ill tell you what nobody wuz achin for was a damn TLC biopic, but I watched it cuz I have somewhat of an appreciation for them and dug left eye as a person.

But NOBODY wanted they movie more than Aaliyah, off the basic fact that most folks fuk with her music more and she got more classics, her biopic would be better and something people wanna see more off GP:russ:...you gotta factor in the music too, they show artist making songs, stories behind songs etc.

And I didn't really mention the lipstick alley stuff...I mentioned the star search shyt, the Rkelly relationship, even if you don't wanna go the messy incriminating route with it,id love for them to approach R Kelly and just find out what he taught her as a mentor musically, they artist/producer relationship, her struggle as a raw artist into them making classics together...R Kelly is a genius and insight and stories just from a producer/artist perspective would be interesting, and Kellz tells great stories:russ:...if she was shy or how her family felt about her singing explicit songs at that age

Wit Kellz U might not get his input if you use the controversial stuff, but either way that aspect can take up a good 30 minutes.....we already a hour in with her childhood and upbringing in the mix

Then you got her meeting Timbaland who says he was in love with her when they met but played it cool, and Missys weird azz,ya boy Ginuwine can make an appearance:heh:

You can have her watchin artist like Brandy wondering why she ain't on that level commercially, only to eventually crossover to the mainstream as well and become more commercial:ohlawd:

I didn't know the Dame and Jay shyt was lipstick alley mess,I thought there was a little more truth to that...if it can be verified she dated both that's a little drama for you there, dated one of the biggest superstars of our present day, doubt u get much out of Jay...but they'll make some shyt up where Jay was too busy being a player so she went to Dame...you know, movie shyt:pachaha:...use it or dont:manny:

Then you got her going into acting, her music career not where it once was....her plotting that comeback but dying in that plane crash instead....the funeral, the end.

And inbetween all that you got her classic music, the stories and recording proccess behind them, along with little scenes her family and friends remember that fans have never heard, things she believed in or said that fans may not know on the outside as she was somewhat private by todays standards.

The script practically writes itself,a good writer can get two hours out of aaliyah with just a little bit of help from the family and friends and peers....and that's without them tellin deep dark secrets they might rather keep hidden, seein as they all protect the shyt out of her....but if u throw some dirt in the mix this shyt is easy:childplease:..and u not taking into account the part music plays in musical biopics which fans will love the proccess of those songs and stories behind them if there is one.....and don't forget creative license

Think I proved my point:pachaha:...this shyt is happening bruh, deal wit it...how u can be in a tlc biopic thread questioning an aaliyah one people been asking for for years?I'm not even knowin how you can't realize this shyt needs to happen, when a movie nobody was sweatin just got made and came out "eeehh" to nice factoring in lil mamas performance.

the problem is, nobody wants to see a movie about them niccas.

nobody wanted to see a TLC movie? you buggin. I can see that youre not really an r&b guy. lol.

I guess I used the lipstick alley term wrong. im not saying that the chit about aalyiah aint true. im just saying that its the type of stuff that gets talked about on those forums. no way a biopic would get based off of that.

im sorry, but the aalyiah scenes youre describing sound dull as f*ck b. that chit aint even after-school special material.

and she was never as commercially viable as brandy. nowhere near.

for some strange reason it kind of felt like it was lil kim

me too, but I cant see lil kim calling somebody else crazy.

unless maybe she was mad that left eye merked her on her own chit?

don't worry, im sure lil kim attention-whoring ass saw the wig and is probably on twitter or something preparing a statement about that scene, saying it wasn't her and calling out the directors.

if VH1 was smart they would start makin more if those kind of movies instead of the Behind The Music series.

the funny thing is, the movie came off as if they basically traced their "behind the music" special and turned it into a flick.

I had just watch their behind the music right before the movie.

real shyt, mad nikkas was hating cause it was Lil Mama, its safe to say she saved this film and Keke Palmer too hot of a prospect to be playing whore ass Chili, she the next gabrielle union :wow:

i cant find a clip anywhere with Ahmed playing Suge, that would be hilarious :dead:

and also, the chick who played T-boz was :wow: and Dallas Austin Evan Ross :russ:

yea, keke is a lil too big for this role. that queen latifah connection at work.

yea, I cant find the full movie either. vh1 needs to put that movie back on tv now.

meh. t-boz was the toughest role to play. and they had to give drew sidora one of those nicki minaj skin-lightening jobs.

drew sidora is something like a dimepiece tho. she looks better than keke palmer in real life actually. NO CONTEST. and she has a sturdy chin.

yo guys, lets just stick to this beautiful movie. But anyone acting like Aaliyah wasnt a 90's icon either didnt grow up in that era or is dellusional.

no. lets be real.

anybody thinking that aalyiah was an icon either weren't actually cognizant in the '90s or theyre just a f*ckin fool. she was a very popular artist. that's it. all this icon chit came after death. icons make time-defining music, are household names and headline tours. aalyiah at her absolute peak was lower-bill status on major tours and had the weakest sets.

but I agree on one thing. LETS ENJOY THIS MOVIE. im done talking about aaliyah in here. I didn't know that my throwaway comment would blow up like this. I apologize to whoever the threadstarter is.

Ciara is an afterthought, how many people ever had Ciara as their favorite or their must buy artist? Why you think she's flopped three albums in a row

She wasn't #3 tho, what I SAID is she got booted by brandy in 94 but snatched that spot back/clearly was just as beloved by 96/97 with ONIAM (esp by girls not in love with brandy's squeaky clean image), Monica was her own lane but fell the fukk off after her second album in 98...Aaliyah was no where near being the third wheel

how many people ever had Ciara as their favorite or must-buy artist? the same types of people that held aalyiah in that same regard a decade prior. the only difference is that you seem to have had more cognizance & perspective by the time Ciara came out.

monica didn't fall off after '98. she stopped making music for a while due to personal issues. big difference. the funny thing is, monica actually has a serious adult career going on and is still dropping legitimate classic songs. cant say that for brandy, and aaliyah dam sure wouldn't be doing that.

again, no offense but the world is bigger than what you and your middle school homies were thinking at the time. that's what im saying about perspective. youre boldly not even attempting to look at the bigger picture here. and yes, if you were 10 years younger, you'd be reminiscing about Ciara in the same regard. I can tell by the things that youre saying that it would indeed be the case. youre too blinded by childhood nostalgia.

you cant even admit that her 3rd album wasn't doing well. and lets be real. "rock the boat" wouldn't be anywhere near as big as it was if she didn't die right when it got released. and "more than a woman" wouldn't have been much of a hit at all. she ended up getting the goat promotion for this album unfortunately because of her death. and it was still her worst seller after all of that.

this is my last post about aalyiah in here. if you like, I'll do a spinoff and cut-n-paste your reply to the thread. but I refuse to disrespect TLC like this. I REFUSE.
