Like it or not, Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole are the Rakim and BDK/Nas and Jay-Z of this era

This is about their place in the current scene, not their level of talent gotdamn y'all can't read shyt.

Anyways Kendrick is Rakim, Jigglypuff is BDK(had a few good years but then... his peak didn't last as long as Rakim's and def not as long as KGR's and honestly how long can you build a career off being the Shang Tsung of conscious rap?) Drizzy Mandelbaum's the LL in this scenario I guess.

Drake and Kendrick are more like the Jay-z and Nas of this generation, it's almost identical, kind of, except Drake is nowhere near as nice as Jay was at his peak and Kendrick is no Nas

The only person who could tell you who the greatest emcee of all time is....

Would be God.
That also goes for any top ten lists

And nikkas on the Coli would have the nerve to fukk around and disagree with him.

These type of discussions are hand jobs :hamster:

:camby:

People argue about this shyt like the nikkas were machines

So weird. I never gave into Kendrick. He's style is so unfamiliar and soooo 2000's. I still see him as a passing fad and have only heard about 10% of his music.

:yeshrug:

Whenever ppl talk about him i'm like "yeah, yeah". Don't feel like I'm missing out on anything though. Oh well.

:camby: with Cole.

Drake is Jay-Z, he's the hit maker, more charismatic, his lyricism is comparable to Jay in the way that they are more clever than technical both can hit you with punchlines and double entendres, both love to throw subs. They both have their thing, Drake raps about relationships while Jay is drug talk. Both are very braggadocious and are good businessman. I know OVO and Rocafella aren't comparable but they have their own little labels for all it's worth. Jay had a small hold of the Brooklyn Nets, while Drake has a position for the Toronto Raptors.

Kendrick Lamar is Nas. His music is more socially conscious, he's more laidback and quiet, his lyricism is more comparable to Nas with the storytelling aspects, both utilize concepts, both spit multi syllable rhymes and flow effortlessly (Nas with the smooth flow, Kendrick with the frantic flow). Both sit back to work, Nas didn't put out an album every year, just like Kendrick's taken a two year hiatus from his classic.

I guess Cole is more comparable to Kanye? :ld:

You can't say that like, "well, it has to be someone". 100% not true.

Kendrick has his own style of delivery and def the best "well known" hip hop artist. (Of today)
J Cole is not as exciting with his delivery plus his production is hit or miss. That's the only issue.

They're both amazing writers.

Buuuut, in this day and age it's about more than just words. You gotta have the whole package.
If you got a box without a stamp and tape to hold it together then ya box ain't gonna get too far... ya digg

I only said that because they both went to college, both produce and rap, stay away from the violent subject matters. Cole is just Cole. :pachaha:

Kanye is one of the nikkas that fathered his style no doubt too. :manny:

Who is Cole to you? :ld:
