Any of yall still playing out there?

Yep, for me it's been a fall/winter thing cause I'm usually busy with motorcycles during the spring and summer. Still running Rocksmith off the pc, got the Fender Squire plugged into that. Learned a lot so far.

I also bought an 88 key Casio Digital Piano to play as well.

Not sure TBH, rock most familiar to me of all the styles but blues may be interesting as well.
You're at the hardest stage of learning guitar only because its nothing but repetition at this point for you.

For rock I'd suggest:

Blues I'd suggest you learn a 12 bar blues, start with that.

When I started playing the violin I was bugged out when people would play tracks and not post the sheets.
:stopitslime:

Then I started playing by ear and after tinkering around with it you discover so many other things.

I have to apologize for that.

Any of y'all writing your own songs? This keeps the instrument in my hands even longer during sessions

If you're a gamer check out rocksmith for pc or console..

shyt put me onto diff genres of music and made playing fun...I would be playing guitar for fukking hours.

Breh...I bought Rocksmith with the Tone Cable to go with my Iommi Sg and I was happy to all shyt but it's like everything REFUSES to work with me in order for me to enjoy it.

First off, my Guitar needs tuning like EVERY minute and that's not just me being ignorant to the fact that songs come in many different tunings. I chalk that up to the fact that not only do I have a Gibson Sg and Gibson guitars are notorious for going out of tune quickly because of the Headstock design along with the nut, I've also got some pretty heavy strings (The Big E String is .60) which also affects intonation and all that. So that's on me, but the main issue is the lag!

Do you get lag when you play? I thought I would have been Gucci by plugging in my headset into the controller, but from what I remember (Put it down in May and haven't looked back yet) there was a split second lag that made all the difference when trying to play notes...it throws you off enough to frustrate you. How do you combat this?

I've got a Fender Jazzmaster on the way that isn't going to be using heavy strings like by Iommi Sg which I'm using strictly for the heavy Detuned stuff, but the lag really disheartened me and made me put it down and never pick it up back up, it was so depressing.
