:smh:

I had to grab the 720p rip because that's all I could get my hands on and it didn't do it justice. I think I'm a shell out the bread and cop this one brehs. I enjoyed it that much. Plus the extras on how this was made are probably worth it.

:wow:

co-sign..this is getting copped next week.. most beautiful movie ever brehs and the hd rip doesnt compare

I thought about that too, but I don't remember Pi saying anything about him eating the cook when he was talking to the investigators. Also, wouldn't Richard Parker theoretically be by his side while he was on the island if it indeed represented cannibalism, considering Richard Parker supposedly represented Pi's "internal, animalistic dark side"?? It seemed as if Richard Parker was kinda doing his own thing on the island, even went to the boat by himself at night time.

Also curious as to what the flying fishes represented, if anyone has an idea.

I just rewatched this scene with my wife because I told her that Pi ate someone and that the island was symbolic of that happening. She didn't believe me, so I replayed that scene and Pi did say indirectly that he ate the cook.

He explains how the cook kills the wounded sailor to use him as bait and for food. The cook eventually kills Pi's mother, and tosses her to the sharks. Pi comes back later and kills the cook and eats him.

Pi tells the investigators this. He says, that, "I then did to him (cook) as he did the sailor" paraphrasing of course, but he admits it there.

i'm really glad they left that in. it really keeps with the essence of the book. i was CERTAIN they'd dumb it down but i'm glad they didnt

I was watching this again the other day and was thinking.

Am I the only one who would like to see another version of the film, but film the story as it really happened, like a literal version, I think it would be great if it had the right cast, be fukking tense.

I like the film alive, so maybe I'm just wishing.

Movie looked great but I was bored during it. Seems like its much better when being discussed than when being watched.

when pi finally gets to mexico and collapses on the sands, richard parker just hops out and walks to the jungle. the part that had me fukked up was the tiger stops right before the jungle and you think hes gonna turn around and acknowledge pi for the last time but NOPE, nikkas too alpha. he gives no fukks and just jumps in the jungle like deuces. if i was pi i woulda been like :to::noah: i loved you nikka and you aint even gonna give me a :salute: before you disappear into the jungle forever??

That scene was supposed to take you back to the lesson Pi's father tried to teach him in Pondicherry about the tiger. Something about the tiger not being his friend and never will be.

Which is even better when you consider that the tiger represents the animalistic, dark and angry side we have inside all of us.

Movie and the book are so fukking dope. Loved the book but the film just shyt on my imagination something fierce.
