Which is even better when you consider that the tiger represents the animalistic, dark and angry side we have inside all of us.

Movie and the book are so fukking dope. Loved the book but the film just shyt on my imagination something fierce.

I haven't read the book (yet), but the ending brilliantly lowkey confirmed that the story with the animals was the true story and not the made up one, because if he made it up than Richard Parker would have departed the way Pi would have liked and believed: as a friend. Instead, Richard Parker left the building in a way that could never have been concocted inside Pi's head after everything they went through together.

That moment of harsh realness basically redeemed the too-good-to-be-true story before it. It's been a while since I saw this movie, but I remember everybody going from this "story was fake":beli: to "omg it was real!":ohhh: at the ending.

I think you missed the point of the story breh, but I respect your viewpoint. It's what great art does, it inspires different interpretations.

I think the book is more to the point about the message.

The author is basically making a point about what kind of person you are when it comes to religion and God. Do you accept the feel good (relatively speaking), mythical version or would you rather have the ugly truth?

Not trying to get into a High School creative essay or art appreciate BS about it, but the story is multiple levels deep. The book will you give a better sense of it in my opinion.

Definitely gonna read that book now breh. Did things change for you spiritually? I personally started seeing religion in a new, refreshing light.

It made the most compelling case for theism I've ever seen, in my opinion. It didn't sway me, but it made me think about why people would rather believe in the feel good stuff, even though it might be evident that the story might not be true or impossible.

For example, in the book, it explicitly details that Pi ended up eating the sailor to survive, which manifested itself as the Tiger eating the hyena. This was skirted around in the movie somewhat. It wasn't that out there.

The Ghetto of Oz
how could someone not like this movie?!

This movie was... Ehhhh

The only reason I found it watchable is because I have a 200+ inch screen to watch it on

It was pretty meh otherwise.. definitely not worth a 7 page thread

I think most people here won't care about the main character..

I was watching this movie thinking this Lil mofo needs to just drown or starve and let the credits roll

I was rooting for the Tiger
