It's crazy when you sit back and realize Biggie never got to perform any of those LAD songs:sadbron:

And people like to say LAD only went Diamond cause Big died. Imagine if he got to drop all the singles or go on tour. I think the album would of sold more. Big had singles for years on that LP.

Today's the DAY. Amazing it's almost been two decades. This LP is literally like a collector's item now. Love that I still have the CD from 97 still scratches and all, lol.

I like this thread... well researched with a lot of actual information and effort spent. So take these comments in the spirit of trying to add to the discussion not criticize.

The Face Turn - Big stated he wanted to rap more conscious topics and he was moving on from the mafioso/versace subject matter he was more known for. This would have been the biggest heel/face turn in history of rap. I dont think he woulda gone conscious like say KRS-1 or Rakim, I think he was more going for a Slick Rick, meaning witty story telling with a theme behind it. I think 'Sky's The Limit'/'Juicy' is basically the mold of song that biggie might have been aiming for... Also with this angle I really don't know if Puffy would have let this go down. That was a major change to the direction of his cash cow... Its funny to think about it all we got a chance to hear from biggie was... its as if nas had died after it was written, or jigga had died after reasonable doubt... we really dont know what his legacy would have been. his whole legacy might be completely different today

The Triple CD - Would have never gone down... this has never been successfully pulled off by a big name rap artist. It was a concept that was floated around a lot at that time, but i dont think any of the big names who talked about this actually made it to a release.

The Fall Off - Almost undeniable... i mean in the history of rap there are probably the only artist who can be considered to never have truly fallen off is Eminem and Jigga... and both have often been sited as having a huge decrease in passion/effort/final product... so just based off statistics we have to assume biggie woulda fallen off eventually... my personal perspective is hip hop was already turning on big time right before his death, so i think it woulda been earlier rather later

So based on this I don't see how Biggie was going to fall off anytime soon. You have to factor in Biggie was cool with The Ruff Ryders so he could of been working with Swizz and DMX who's debut featured Faith, The Lox, Ma$e so X was very cool with Bad Boy. He was cool with Roc a Fella so he could of been working with KanYe and Just Blaze, as well as probably Bleek and Beans. He was cool with Missy and Aaliyah so he could of been working with Timbaland. Puffy was cool with The Neptunes so Biggie could of been working with them. Biggie was cool with Fat Joe so that's the Terror Sqaud and Big Pun. He was also cool with Irv Gotti so Ja rule would of been there. By putting Cam'ron on the Dipset would of been affiliated with Biggie. J Dilla did a beat for Big so Biggie very well could of been working with The Soulquarians. He was cool with JD and So so Def so he would of been working with the South for sure. Then you had his own team of Ma$e, The Lox, Black Rob and a ton of RnB acts. Biggie was going to be in the forefront of a huge East coast movement that would of had the game on lock for many years.

Solid post. I remembering Fat Joe & Big were gonna record an album together. Then I hear a Fat Joe interview a few years ago & he says they did like 5/6 tracks for it that never made it to the light. Puff has them though.
