I don't know if OP or anybody else mentioned this, but there's also a story from Noreaga himself (forgot what interview), but Nore himself stated that Biggie was gonna be on the remix to Capone-N-Noreaga's T.O.N.Y. :krs::ohhh:

According to Nore, Biggie called him days before his death:

"
“I watched the movie [Notorious] a couple of times,” N.O.R.E. told Radio.com. “The only part that made me cry was when he was making those phone calls. I was one of those phone calls.”

In the scene, Biggie placed calls to several of his loved ones. While the call to N.O.R.E. was omitted on screen, he remembers it well. When Big called, he played “T.O.N.Y. (Top of New York),” which was an unreleased song of Capone-N-Noreaga‘s at the time.

“I wasn’t honored that Big called me playing ‘T.O.N.Y.,’ I was like ‘How the fukk you get that?’ I’m thinking it’s bootlegged. Big Took like five minutes before he answered.”

After delighting in N.O.R.E.’s anxiety about his unreleased song, Biggie explained that he was sitting next to the song’s producer Nasheem Myrick. He then dropped the bomb on him.

“He was like, ‘I’m getting on the remix,” N.O.R.E. said. “‘As soon as I get back to New York, I’m bodying that. Don’t tell no one I don’t want nobody to know.’ I’m thinking I’m gonna have the biggest record out.”"

Biggie was just way ahead of his time, I heard the blends with Metro Boomin beats and there's another one that Mister Cee mixed somebody's blends that had him over today's hit beats...and he just had it all man. Gone way too soon.

:sadcam: uuugh we woulda FINALLY got Capone and Biggie on the same track....

Good question. I've thought about this a lot myself. Shyne had a very amazing voice and rhyming ability. His flow was very sharp. But the fact is he was successful cause of his similarities to Biggie vocally. Shyne was actually discovered by one of Biggie's longtime Producers Clark Kent who produced several of Biggie Classics. My hypothesis would be it could of gone two ways. Biggie could of dismissed Shyne for sounding to much like him (Lil Kim ended up dissing Shyne for that very thing) or with Clark Kent urging, Biggie would got a kick out of Shyne's similarities to him and they would of done some "Gimmie the Loot" type multiple personality song collabos.

Honestly Listening to Shyne's album I felt Big's energy on a few tracks as far as flow, style as well as sound. Ironically the last song on Shyne's album is called "The Commission" and the beat was produced by one of the Hitmen and longtime Biggie Collaborator Nasheim Mavrick. Which leads to me believe it may have been a beat he was thinking of giving Biggie for "The Commission" album. A few beats on Shyne's album was tailor made for Biggie's flow including "Bad Boyz", "Bang" and "Die". But when I heard "The Commission" I felt Shyne was channeling Biggie for sure, even the hook sounded like something Biggie would say:

"Die for it, get on the stand lie for it, blow trail
get up in the chair fry for it, never turn into snitchin
rather swin with the fishin, mothafukka respect it, THE COMMISSION, UHH"

When I heard that, I seriously thought Puffy gave Shyne a secret Biggie rhyme book, lol. Shyne even starts the song with Biggie's trademark "Uhh, Yeah" adlibs. Also for the record, this timeline I presented is from Biggie's death 97 up to the year 2000. I've gotten questions about Biggie past that point and honestly his plans were for the next 3 years after his Sophomore album came out. People have to remember, Biggie died before his 2nd album, he only released 1 solo album during his lifetime he was literally at the beginning of his career.

:ohhh::whoo:

Yes I'm aware of this story and I mention CNN's connnection to Big in the first post. This was definitely going to happen though because "War Report" was heavily produced by The Hitmen which was Puffy''s production team that worked with Biggie. The album came out summer of 97 so that would of given Big plenty of time to work on "T.O.N.Y." remix. Also Capone was very cool with Junior Maifa.

As for that mixtape you posted, DJ Snika has been doing Biggie Blendz for the last 10 years and they've all come out dope. Biggie over "Panda" was perfect and Desiinger is from bedstuy. It shows you how timeless his bars are. Not only does he still sound good on modern production but rappers take his bars and fit it into their rhymes schemes effortlessly. It's not just the albums we missed out on, it's crazy to think of all the collbo's we missed out on.

"T.O.N.Y." was perfect for Biggie. I'm sure he liked that it was called "Top of New York", lol. Another untold Gem was Havoc contacted Biggie to work on "Hell on Earth" album but he was injuried in his car accident. So Biggie let Hav produce on "Last Day". Havoc stated he was so happy to hear Big spit on the "Hell on Earth" Beat:

(T.O.N.Y. Remix was schedule to drop Summer 97 with the same beat)

(Biggie actually wanted Mobb Deep to feature on this beat as well)

(Long Kiss Goodnight/Your Nobody Hell on Earth Freestyle)

@Knicksman20 , and we never get that proper Big/Esco collabo:damn::rip::wow::mjcry:

Yeah NaS finally talked about the famous photo in the studio and said he was going to be on the "Gimmie The Loot Remix" produced by Premo. He got way to high off that "Chocolate" were as after they smoked and couldn't come up with anything at that moment but Biggie was in the zone, lol. That was Big's writing process to get really high and just spit. I did like the remixes NaS did on "Born Again" and "Duets" though:

That's completely Nas's fault on his end, Big was ready and Nas as usual gets high and forgets about sh*t the next day, same with that Jay collab for "Can i live" which he was suppose to be on. That's my fave rapper but jesus christ sometimes! smh i know Nas now wouldn't be like that but a young Nas was just wreckless with his career the way he prioritized things.

Big wouldve prob fell victim to the wack late 90s heavy synth and piano production that plagued that era. But he wouldve bounced back lovely in the 2000s with the reemergence of 70s soul based sample production. Imagine bigs mafia tales over kanye and just blaze beats :wow:

I doubt it fam. Just think who he already worked with with his previous albums which he probably would've collaborated with again;

Premo
Easy Mo Bee
Hit Men
Rashad Smith
Rza

Then you had producers who you know wanted to do a track with him:

Pete Rock
Q-Tip
Erick Sermon
Havoc

Then you had the emergence of these guys:

Timbaland
Neptunes
DJ Hi Tek
Alchemist

I bet he would've done tracks with Daz & Warren G because of his ties to Snoop too

New Lil' Kim interview, said Biggie predicted "Life After Death" would go Diamond before his death and that he loved Wu Tang and Mobb Deep:

Kim always ride for Big forever, she really learned a lot from him. These tracks she released over the last year were dope and payed homage to Big and her flow on "Quiet Storm" was very Biggie-esqe, it was like his spirit was flowing thru her, she bodied that:

"After I drop these flowers for Big off, I'm gonna come and blow your lid off, Like Adolf, roll up the tints and peel off"
