NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
You know what? I could see this...I’m not rolling on Got My Mind Made Up. That is simply not a clear cut “east coast song” especially of the time. The synths really give it a west coast feel. If that’s the case you could easily say Deep Cover, Lil Ghetto Boy or bytches Ain’t shyt were east coast records and I don’t recall many arguments for it. Got My Mind Made Up is like a hybrid song no different than Winter Warz

Going Back To Cali was a clear cut West Coast song
The World Is Filled...does not sound like a East Coast song at all
Notorious Thugs was clearly a Midwest bounce song
Trading War Stories was very midwest sounding. U coulda put Twista on that and not skip a beat. Like I said u gotta cut the shyt. All Eyez On Me bounced regions just as much as LAD. And it came out a year earlier.

I’ll be honest with you...Back then and even up until now there is no definitive “Midwest” sound. Them nikkax are basically Puerto Rican’s...Some of this Some of that but that screams them exclusively. Notorious Thugs isn’t as much of a Midwest song as a song that was a “Bone Song”. Since Bone was by far the biggest Midwest act up until Nelly it doesn’t seem reckless to label Bone mutually exclusive to a “Midwest Sound”

So it’s basically a Midwest Sound that up until that point no other east coast artists would have bothered with much less switch up his flow in an attempt to blend with Bone whether it fit actual double time or not

Everything outside of the synth is pure east coast boom bap. Added to the fact that Red and Meth are the only NY features + the style Kurupt and Pac were spitting I don't see how you can dispute it. I could easily hear Guru,The Lost Boyz,Nas on this beat and wouldn't bat an eye.

I literally mentioned several definitive West Coast Classics that are basically east coast songs with a synth or a flute added that NOBODY has ever been in a rush to call east coast songs but since that doesn’t fit what these guys are shooting for they’re upset! Why nikkax are acting like “Got My Mind Made Up” is “4th Chamber” or “Unbelievable” ?

LAD remains a classic and it was finished before BIG's death. I really wonder how he would have promoted this album. It was definitely a surefire classic. Also would have made a big dent on the shiny suit era backlash.
