Good match. the wrap above the hips during mount was nice. if you place ur palms on top of his head you can use him as a base to bring your body forward and bring his armpits over the knees and have the op in a nice high mount that's difficult to get out of. Especially with the body wrap.

when you're in half guard you should bring the lower half of your body toward his back to flatten him out. We like the ops on their flat so we can take the under hook and the arm wrap, forehead on the mat near their shoulder and begin escaping. If they're on their side, they're workin and they need to be getting that work

Transitions from guard to mount were nice were good but watch your base. When you bring that leg up you should be aware of your base n arm placement to avoid being swept. Also be prepared to be pulled back into guard right as you bring your leg off the ground to post forward. that is the exact moment cats will pull you down.

He was so focused trying to push you away he didn't take some good opportunities to take you to one side like his coach was trying to get him to do.

What did you finish with and congrats on the sub/sub

we out chea

Nice stuff. I’m surprised you didn’t go for an Ezekiel when you had mount, he was giving you his neck. You could have also transitioned to an armbar too with the way he was defending your mount with his hands.

Yea man, my zeke hasn't been the same since hurting my hand. I still have it taped up pretty good.

I was thinking about going for the armbar, but the way he left it up there I thought it could possibly be a trap, so I said nah.

This is right after i shot for the single.

Came close to getting the td. Right when this gif ends he sprawls, we stand, then he scores the TD.

It feels like my game leveled up big time since the competition. I'm seeing shyt I didnt see b4, trying stuff I havent tried b4. It's kind of crazy actually.

I've been working on two things.

1. Getting more work off my back. I have a really good arm under the leg and roll escape that works damn near every time. (Its in the 2nd video right after the takedown).

B. Going after triangles off my back. Been landing them, but not getting the sub. I know what part of the issue is: I need to butt scoot a lil more to get the leg further across the back, but I havent locked that part of the game in yet.

2. I've been giving my sparring partners a lil more room to work when I'm in side control. This way I'm more aware of when more submission attempts open up, I'm makes me work more improving cardio, and I makes me do more adjusting on the fly.

And At times it forces me into mount position. Which isnt a place a normally work from.

And I mentioned b4, since the hand injury my Zeke beens weak af. It be there, but it went from maybe an 80% success rate to able an 30% success rate.

Sux at 1st, but not being able to land that is forcing other parts of my game to get better.

Really the hand injury made my whole game better. My side control used to be mainly getting an arm behind the head and getting a night gable grip in.

Now that I cant really grip that hand like that, it made use a different method of keeping side control/pressure.
