Egypt been acting like they control the whole Nile... Ethiopia and Egypt been having disputes about the Nile since 2010 as far as I can remember.

Egypt has no choice but to act that way. Do you think Egypt and Ethiopia will eventually have a clash of interests within their region of Africa? To me, I think it may be inevitable given Ethiopia's desire to generate hydropower and Egypt's increasing dependency on the Nile as its population grows.

I think they will seeing as desperate Egypt's been acting. This is why I said this dam may ease tensions between them. And those two SHOULD fond the dam, especially Ethiopia. Make those North African fukks dependent on "Sub Sahara Africa".

5. Regional dominance in North-Eastern Africa is hard to decipher. Egypt appears to be the regional power but its head in the Arab World while its body is in Africa. Ethiopia has the potential to usurp it because if it control one of the sources of the Nile (due to dams), it can have Egypt by the balls. Sudan too.
6. Ethiopia is using electricity to make Northeastern Africa dependent upon her.

Well damn :leon: I wasn't even aware of that. Which one of the two countries has the most money and the most powerful military?

Like I said in my DRC thread, theoretically if this dam is completed it will be the largest dam constructed and will be bigger than the one in China.

Are you people not aware that if the Grand Inga were to be constructed it would be the GREATEST architecture feat of mankind?:ohmy::ohmy::ohmy:

And it will be in Africa.

This will make the Pyramids look like "meh".

In my opinion, Egypt should try and bargain for cheaper rates of electricity. I've always found it odd that Egypt isn't a manufacturing hub for European goods like Turkey.

Like I said.

GREATEST. HUMAN. ARCHITECTURE. FEAT. EVER.

Which is why I been following this project like crazy. But I just wonder if the government of the DRC is really determined and do the parties even have enough financial funding.

The Dam will at least get the western portion of the DRC on the right track.

Then why the delay in building the dam? It would, at the very least, give the Western DRC more influence/power compared to Katanga - which is where Kabila is weakest in terms of popularity (I believe).

Grand Inga Dam has been estimated to cost US$80 billion, including cost of the transmission lines needed to carry its power across Africa and potentially to Europe. Many consider the amount to be an underestimate.
Grand Inga Hydroelectric Project: An Overview

The government estimated that the Three Gorges Dam project would cost 180 billion yuan(US$22.5 billion)

Do you guys think other nations will be willing to spend this much?

Like I said financial problems? I already posted the costs of the dam.

And isn't the western part more developed than Kutanga?

I'm unsure. I would have to ask someone on the ground. I would guess that the Western part was less affected by Great Congo War than Katanga, but there maybe more Belgian infrastucture down in Katanga than in Bas-Congo outside of Kinshasa.
