Nah Jada wuz more than a punchline rapper,I'm talkin bout dudes with a bunch of empty lines used simply to set up the next punchline....fab wuz metaphors like almost every other bar with a bunch of meaningless lines inbetween to set up the metaphor....to me fab is way better than he wuz durin ghetto fabolous for that reason.

Kind of a insult to jada to put jada up as the man who spawned the corny east coast mixtape rappers I'm talkin about,a bunch of nameless nikkas who walked around thinkin of metaphors all day...Fab birthed them nikkas,he surpassed that now and left all those corny bums for dead...who been as consistent for aslong with the punchlines?ill wait.

I think now Banks > Fab, but Lloyd bit Fab's whole style when he first came out so you have a point

Ghetto Fabolous is the first album by East Coast hip hop artist Fabolous. The album was released on September 11, 2001 and was received critically by mixed views, but was a commercial success. It reached #4 on the U.S. Billboard 200 with 143,180 copies sold and had three singles which were all Rhythmic Top 40 and Billboard Hot 100 hits. The first of those singles is "Can't Deny It", produced by Rick Rock, and features a chorus by Nate Dogg that alters lyrics from Tupac Shakur's "Ambitionz Az a Ridah". It reached #25. The other charting singles are "Young'n (Holla Back)", produced by The Neptunes (#33), and "Trade It All", featuring vocals from Jagged Edge and produced by DJ Clue and DURO. It reached #20, becoming the highest-charting single from the album.
It sold over 1.05 million copies by 2003 as Billboard[6] has reported and it was certified platinum on February 6, 2003, by the RIAA.

People can get on the O/P but the fact is Fab was a new artist and he managed a Top 5 Debut on the Billboard Charts during 9/11. So no it didn't go toe to toe as far as popularity, quality and impact but it did manage to go Platinum and "Blueprint" till this day is only 2x Platinum so Fab sold half of what Jay did.

Still my fav moment in hip hop when my fav rappers dropped on the same day. I was more excited for fab shyt to be honest and i bumped it more for the first few months.

Outside of jay and nas. Fab controlled 2001 from jan to dec. People forgot about all the clones that popped up and started to look like dude lol :shaq2:

That's just a cute thing to say...he surpassed Big L a long time ago...please don't drop that "like beavis I get nuthin but head" line as proof like nikkas like to do...u gotta give big l props for probaly inspiring nikkas like Fab...but that don't mean he can't be surpassed...fab inspired a generation in his own right, give em his props people...fab hate is just a trendy thing to do.

Big L only has one studio album and he still has a better discography than Fabolous :skip:

Im very aware of the :troll: nature of this thread, yet I will never understand the romanticization some folk have with fukkin Fab and Mase. They make the most cliche, uninspired, forgettable music, and yet they are revered. They have a handful of OKAY singles, no good albums and would sell their soul for a dollar. Is it because, they look up to how they speak softly, act like theyre homosexuals and would likely not bust a grape?
