Braun is really proof that Vince/everyone around him are just lazy. When they wanted to get Braun over, he was the hottest act in the company for about 9 months to a year. Because they gave him shyt to do that would get him over and kept at it until he was super over.
But then Vince's actual big man philosophy came in to play, which is big men are there to job to top stars and because they're big, they'll never lose their heat, which is the philosophy he's had for 40 years for every big man that wasn't Andre and even Andre at the end was putting Warrior over in a minute all across the country. But that doesn't work, it always kills the heat of the big guys, and it has consistently for 40 years in WWE. You mix that with Vince getting bored and dropping shyt constantly, and his habit of booking dudes poorly then blaming them for losing heat, and you have what seemed like a can't miss huge star in Braun Strowman in 2017-2018 into the complete afterthought he's been ever since.
