Ehhh its way to tough to judge them side by side as Bron's era that he played in his rookie year isn't remotely the same as this one. Bron was putting up the same sort of stats as Wemby is now, in the toughest defensive era in NBA history

Conversely, Wemby isn't playing the minutes that Bron was playing

They aren't an apples to apples comparison
Oh now it’s about eras huh? :pachaha:

I thought this was the most skilled era ever?

Ain’t that why y’all consider Bron the goat?

And no Bron is not putting up the same numbers as Victor.

40,19 and 7 as a rookie

This man might be the GOAT when it's all said and done :manny:

Thecoli not cultured enough to appreciate Monsier Wemby :wow:

I have never seen a flood or collective of Bron fans in a Wemby celebrated twitter/FB/IG thread bringing up Bron's rookie year to dismiss what he's doing. Like....there isn't a collective doing that.

@10bandz ...you're projecting and making shyt up hoping it comes to existence.

Bron gonna give you 2 decades of greatness. Seeing how well his game has aged and mutured there's a good argument for why he could have been even better.

No Brainer for me in 2024.

Bron has displayed no loyalty over these 2 decades so I wouldn’t draft him over Wemby

Because we're basing it off of what we know. Wemby "might" end up a GOAT. Bron already DID end up a GOAT. Just basic odds say there is only a very small chance that Wemby will end up having a better career than Bron.

Like some poster said earlier......

Exactly.

These posters are in here with a lottery ticket that paid out a billion dollars.
And they're willing to trade it in for another lottery ticket that MAYBE pays out a billion and 1 dollars.

Gotta go with Bron.

I doubt Wemby can even run around on those bullsh*t ankles and be effective longer than a few seasons. That NBA grind ain't no joke. It doesn't favor the extra tall dudes. Bro is already having ankle issues season one.

LeBron is top 5 all time so picking Wemby only makes sense if you think he'll be the GOAT

Still taking Bron especially considering his longevity now is unmatched…

But like I said the day that vid of a 16 year old Wemby playing 1 on 1 with Gorbert where he was the same height as Rudy and cooking him.. I said the league is in fukkin trouble once he gets here :mjlol:

I didn't understand why this was a non-starter to some people. Even factoring in that we know Bron is one of the most "if you get him, you'll always matter" guys ever, Wemby could do everything in modern basketball that guards can do on a high-level and is individually a DPOY level guy. Like that's basically what he showed for all of his pro years and in this country against a team of supposedly some of the best draft-eligible guys this country had. I dunno how you had GOAT potential but you couldn't be compared to LeBron (who obviously also had GOAT potential).
Who pegged this discussion or anything in it as a "non-starter"?

Rookie Bron >> Rookie Wemby

He was damn near Karl Malone sized as a rookie (6'8" 240 lbs vs 6'9" 250 lbs) with A+ court vision, athletic ability and a deep bag. His main weakness was an iffy jumper and he's never been the best FT shooter....solid but not one of those 85%+ automatic types.

He played in an era where it was noticeably harder to score and teams hadn't adjusted to the zone defense with more shooters....notice around that time the Mavs, Suns etc., started making noise because they had guys that could shoot like Nash, Dirk, JET etc.

Bron translates to any era. The one player I think would dominate no matter what time period you dropped him in. Wemby is really unique but I'm not sure how he looks if we take him back 20 or 30 years.

He still brought a ring and multiple finals appearances to Cleveland. 2 rings and multiple final appearances to Miami. And a ring to the Lakers. I bet most teams would be happy with any of those

How was Bron better? :pachaha:

Victor clears in basically everything

:mjlol:Lol at you listing his hometown like that had anything to do with this topic

Weird ass nikka
did lebron at first not get drafted to his hometown

is cleveland not still a treadmill team at this moment?
would he make more money getting drafted to Cleveland or San Antonio today?
what 7 foot paper thin center has stayed healthy for a full career since 1970?
Lebron at 16 was on TV getting buckets and hailed as first round draft
Wemby at 16 and still at 20 is getting his body together to become an amazing talent

Lebron is a much safer bet, but both are A+ answer

so like Lebron's mom, you can tell your 90 year old grandma to come to my hotel after the game
and get some shots up off the front of her 4mm thick james worthy goggles
