ok bro you proving my point more by saying it was less games and it dont matter how bad he was, Verlander lost 17 games one year before he broke out, if it was the Yankees they wouldve gotten rid of him.
And last year was an aberration for Kennedy as well.
...and this year could prove to be an aberration for Jackson.
Ian was awful had a good year and is back to awful. Arizona won't get rid of him because no one else better wants to go there and they hope he can bounce back.
4.15 is awful? Please know what your talking about
As a Tigers fan, I hated the trade at the time it happened, but now, I think it's worked out for everyone involved.
Kennedy was ass while he was in New York. Like others have said, pitching in NY (and Boston) is another monster and not everyone can handle it. There's been countless examples of it over the years and going from the AL to the NL has never hurt a pitcher. That has to factor into his success.
Granderson's produced exactly what NY was probably expecting/hoping from him: left-handed power, some speed on the base paths and a decent glove in center (even though his UZR is trash, I still think he's alright in the field).
You never know what to expect from a "prospect" once they see the Major League level, but Jackson's exceeded my expectations. I think he's the best defensive center fielder in baseball (just my opinion with some obvious bias) and he's been terrific at the dish this year. He's been a little inconsistent, he strikes out too much for a lead-off man and he was ass in the playoffs last year, but I'm happy with him.
I rarely like any move Cashman makes...
That said, Cashman clearly won on this three team trade...
I say this with 100% confidence, without Granderson the Yankees do not make the playoffs last season...He was easily the teams MVP and carried them into the playoffs...This season he's been more Giambi-esque with the bat but he's still putting in work...

They won the division by SIX GAMES.
Going strictly off WAR (from Fangraphs), there are 18 other CF's who also would have made the postseason in New York, including Coco Crisp.
