It was a great system but also a cautionary tale as to be careful what you buy at launch.
In OP's defense, it came very, very close. PS3 edged out the 360 by 1 mil at the dead end of the cycle. Very impressive given Sony's massive market share when MS first entered the console game.

Xbox should go back to the 360 philosophy but with their first party. They mostly relied on buying 3rd party exclusives.
Yeah, good catch, corrected the post. It's a razor thin W; 77 mil vs 76 mil sold.
Honestly, of course first OR third party exclusives would help MS, but they just need to avoid the colossal failure of a reveal the XB1 had..all that social media/no used games/always must be online shyt was just one disastrous decision after another...on top of being $100 more due to a camera nobody asked for. There was no coming back from that E3 presentation, even all these years later the damage was never reversed.

They had to come up off of some of that when they decided to fix any Xbox that was born and died within a 2-3 year span free of charge to appease the masses. The amount of 360's I had up, running and sold was.....fukking crazy.
