Let's pause and acknowledge that in the past 15 years we've seen some of the craziest 80s and 90s comic characters come to life on screen

I know it's not within the last 15 years, but I never thought we would get a Watchmen movie.
That alone is :wow:
No matter anyone thought of the final outcome

breh. We got Watchmen..... AND a TV show sequel.

that is fukking insane.

:heh: I remember trying to explain to folks how near impossible it was that we got a League of Extraordinary Gentlemen movie.

that's a thread idea. Movies folks don't realize are based on comics/manga.

If dc was smart.

Since they own wildstorm.
They could easily fix the dc universe pretty easy using Jim Lee's wildstorm.
You Introduce wildcats and their big bad.

When the big bad finally is about to get the Duke.

Jacob Marlowe is like.
I also hired a few new consultants.

Cue the eighties superman score and theme. As supes swoopes in to save the day.
Cue the batman 89 score and the wonder woman TV score and you fix the dcu.

You do not have to make dc movies to fix the dcu. Make wildstorm movies and then crossover dc movies from windstorm.

The "re-imagining" of a lot of those characters you listed doesn't exactly inspire confidence for the future :unimpressed:

I think the first time I said

"Oh shyt. That's the real.."

on screen was Iron Man.

Shout out to Jackman Wolverine and Remi Spiderman. Reeves Superman and a couple of the Batmans were decent. Blade was very dope too. But they never struck me as THE character.

Then. After Iron Man, shyt started really picking up steam. As far as comic accurate/inspired material and fleshing out characters in epic ways.

Now things are actually in a great state. Even though the big 2 (Marvel/DC) have been dropping some stinkers lately, we have some super interesting properties bubbling. The Boys. Invincible. I am A Virgo.

As a comic collector from the 90s I really appreciate what they have done to bring this genre to the screen.
